I've always been a much bigger basketball fan than football fan, but was drawn in by the success of the football team this year. After Purdue I told myself I was done watching for this season, but no. They draw me back in with a solid first half, just to crush me in the same way by playing not to lose.

people thought we were going to get smoked 63-0 or embarrassed. We were in the game the whole time, we couldn’t get a stop in the fourth or get a needed first down, but we played tough. I don’t want to hear about anyone saying the northwestern game is an L or that we will only win 7 games all year. Team has a lot of heart

I know people don't like moral victories but let's be real. After the last two weeks who would have thought that the final score would even be remotely this close in this game?
I did, check the pregame thread. Happened close to how I said too. I thought it'd be a heartbreaking special teams loss due to a punt block though. We had a chance just couldn't get over the hump.

Lunney continues the brain dead play calling. Great effort by our guys but he continuously does not put them in a position to succeed. You have to be way more creative than running delays up the middle and slow developing run plays when the defense knows you are going to run the ball with a lead. Just zero creativity.

Still a chance to get to a great bowl game if we take care of business next week.
