So Michigan CFP, OSU Rose, Penn State and Purdue next for Citrus and Reliaquest?

The next bowls are Duke’s Mayo (Tampa), Music City (Nashville), and Pinstripe (NYC)… so we’re in one of those, right?
Reliaquest is in Tampa. We could theoretically still go there. They don't always go completely by the pecking order. Somebody just has to grease the right palms.

Penn State is going to win today so they will be 10-2. They are most likely going to the Orange or the Rose Bowl. If Michigan beats Purdue than Michigan is in the CFP. Ohio State is probably going to sneak in so that leaves Citrus and Reliaquest for Purdue and Illinois. Purdue will get the Citrus and we will get the Reliaquest. The weird thing is when all is said and done after the Big Ten Championship game and if Purdue loses that game we will have a better record overall going into the bowl game. They would be 8-5 and we would be 8-4.

No way we are ahead of Purdue when they beat us at home, finished with a better conference record, and won the West. Our only hope for a Florida Bowl is if Georgia wins the SEC Title game and Ohio State can sneak into the playoff. Otherwise we are going to Nashville.

They aren’t going to leave Penn State out of a New Years 6 with a 10-2 record. Also, Ohio State only has 1 loss. Even if they are left out of the CFP that leaves the Rose and the Orange for them and PSU takes the other bowl. Michigan would be in the CFP and guess where that leaves the Citrus and the Reliaquest for?

After the top three, we are the most attractive Big Ten team. We have way more TV sets than Purdue et al. We also went out with a bang and have the likely Doak Walker winner. The bowls won’t care that purdont beat us.

That's not how it works. The bowl can take any remaining eligible team it wants, and it can be done if a guy knows a guy who knows a guy. It's college football.

I can see a 1 loss USC team jumping over Ohio State in the rankings but not in the CFP rankings. USC lost to Utah earlier this year. Ohio State lost to Michigan.
