25 limit is gone now. Doesn’t matter how you get the 85 scholarship players.

so in theory, you could have 100% turnover on your roster and have 85 new guys in any mix of prep , juco and transfers you want

it will make it much easier for new coaches , like say Hugh Freeze or Deion Sanders , have success quicker now than before.
it used to take 3-4 yeasrs to rebuild a roster into 40 guys who could really contribute. now its half that time

Hugh hasn’t ruled out adding 40 new players to the roster at Auburn by next year.

Fun fact: ESL used to have 3 high schools. ESL, Lincoln, and Assumption (Catholic). Assumption closed back in the 80's if my memory is correct, Lincoln closed about 15-20 yrs ago I think. All 3 had good sports teams especially FB/BB.
Assumption High School was turned into a prison in 2007.

The nervous breakdown of college sports continues apace.

Sitting here watching Tulane vs UCF. Gus Malzahn doesnt have a QB and UCF is practically one diminsional. This reminds me of our suffering prior to Devito,

Thus said geting a decent to above average QB must be our number 1 search . We go back to one dimensional and we will grasping every year just to get bowl eligible.

Re-recruiting every player on every roster every year is not a sustainable equilibrium.

The NIL money is going to have to be worked into a tool to bind players to a school, but there's a courtroom between where we are and that outcome.
I wonder if NIL will be a way to make players play in bowl games? If that was the case the player would need to be insured to minimize the financial risk

All the tension points at which the rubber meets the road between the lie of NIL as a wholly independent licensing of a player's image rights and the truth that these are inducements for players to play for specific schools will be constantly barraged over the coming years.

Everybody guess which one of these schools I played for.

(I never got anywhere near the state title game, the program has improved to a truly shocking degree)
Going with Prairie Ridge for Gritty guess. East St. Louis used to be East St. Louis Senior, right?

Edit: still is East St. Louis Senior. No need to distinguish which high school it is anymore, it seems.

He had one who was very Devito-esque (Mikey Keene) who probably should've been the starter all year, but Gus only likes to play running QB's. He had already played in 4 games this year and sat out today to preserve his red shirt year for the transfer portal. I would love to see him at Illinois, but don't think there are any connections at all (unless Gus wanted to do Keene a favor by reaching out to fellow Arkansan Lunney).
