Lions have the Rams’ pick plus their own.

Seahawks have the Broncos pick plus their own.

Texans have the Browns’ pick plus their own, but their own pick is almost guaranteed to be before the Bears’ pick.

Eagles have the Saints’ pick, but won’t be looking at a QB. So maybe the Bears are less likely to want to trade with them as they’ll be in competition for the same players.

Dolphins have the 49ers pick, but traded their own to the Broncos.

As mentioned above, while the Broncos have the Dolphins’ pick, they traded their own to the Seahawks.

As the standings currently sit, the Bears are #2, the Lions are at #3 and #13, the Seahawks are #4 and #16, and the Eagles are #6 and #32.

I believe the last trade of the #2 pick was the Trubisky trade, where the Bears gave up 2017 #3, 67 and 111 as well as a future 3rd round pick.

The Eagles paid a lot more to move up the year before, giving up #8, 70 and 100, plus future 1st and 2nd round picks to Cleveland to get Wentz.

I would love to see Chicago trade the #2 to the Seahawks for both 1st rounders this year and another high pick or two this year or next. Seattle could be convinced that it needs to get ahead of Detroit to have first pick at QB. There are certain needs on the defensive and offensive lines that could be filled nicely with the #4 & #16.

6 weeks ago I think the consensus opinion would have been the Bears keep this pick and take a QB. I am not 100% convinced that the Bears wouldn’t look to move Fields and take a new QB prospect. Fields is an amazing athlete, but can he throw the ball well enough to win in the NFL? Can a QB stay healthy running like Fields has been? What are the long term prospects of a QB who relies so much on his legs? I think you could get a pretty good return for Fields at this point.

There's zero chance this happens.

Illinoise's suggestion is the kinda meatball fan stuff I'd hear from Score callers. If he wants to call into one of the shows to suggest that, I say go for it. Do it between 10 and 2 preferably if you do.
Sorry for daring to question whether a QB who hasn’t shown an ability to be an effective passer in the NFL should be untouchable. I hope Fields is the guy but I am on the fence. If someone gave me a couple of first rounders for him and I could take a new guy in this draft that would tough to pass up. I don’t listen to the score….so who is the meatball?

While I'll grant you that he hasn't shown whether he can be an effective passer, especially from the pocket, but I would be shocked if the Bears traded him at this point. Especially since this seems to be the first time in years that they've found a franchise QB.

Therein lies the question I guess. Is he a franchise quarterback? It would be a bold move but Poles doesn’t seem to shy away from bold.

If you want proof of what Justin Fields can become look no further than the guy who was doing it last year and is still running more than Fields this year, Jalen Hurts. Fields needs to take that throwing leap but if you give him a guy that can win the 50-50 balls he has at least 3 game winning drives this year alone. Justin Fields has IT. The Bears are bought in on him.

You are probably right, but the truth is nobody will know for certain until this offseason. Zero chance anyone in the organization says anything except “Fields is our guy” while he is on the team. The chance to potentially have the second pick in the draft doesn’t come along often. I’m no college scout but if they love another quarterback it could be hard to pass up. If the Seahawks offer both their first round picks for Fields do you give it some thought?

I don't have the chart, but that seems like A LOT to give up, to move up 2 spots. However, if Seattle absolutely loves 1 guy, maybe they would do it. I think that the Bears need enough that they should take the #4 and #16, and trade the #4 for something around #10 and pick up a 1st round pick for next year. I am a huge fan of building up the early round draft capital.

They may not say something other than Fields is our guy but they don't have to say that he is. All of the beat reporters are talking about what is being said in the offices not in the public eye. The organization loves Fields. If they didn't think he was their guy they wouldn't have worried about coaching him up in the Jets game like they were. This is a lost season, they don't need to have a QB to get them through since the season is totally dead in the water. There is not reason to pander to Fields right now. This new regime has been very transparent and I believe it when I hear that they know this is their guy.

No I don't. If Seattle is doing that, it should tell you everything you need to know about the QBs in the draft. There are no college QBs that I would put above Fields even coming out of college. I take the guy I can get with 2 if no other trade down option is worthy.

He is working with a broken offense right now and was still putting up 30 points a game for a stretch.

People are saying you can't run as much as he does and be successful. Hurts is running more than him but not many people think that is a problem. Cam Newton did it and I know that Fields is a better passer than Newton. He is doing what is needed to win ball games right now.

He can throw, he has noone that can get open and he has noone to make contested catches (minus Claypool sometimes). If you look at the best QBs in the league, they feast on 50-50 balls when the plays breakdown and right now we don't have a single player, even when Mooney was healthy, that would win for the QB. Get OL and WR and watch this guy BLOW UP.

Fields set to start on Sunday. Siemian to IR as he will have season ending oblique surgery. Nathan Peterman will be the backup the remainder of the season with recently claimed Tim Boyle as the third string QB.

Brisker, Gordon, and Borom out for Sunday. Reiff and Vildor are questionable.

Santos on extra points this season not so good. However pleasantly surprised Bears up 16-3.

Commanders and Giants finish in a 20-20 tie. First time since 2016 that Commanders have finished with a tied game. First time since 1997 for the Giants, which was also the last time 2 NFC East teams tied each other.
