The Skyy-Harris-Rodgers-Hawkins-Dainja lineup has probably been our best look defensively the last 2 games but it unfortunately doesn’t lead to much offensive diversity. Almost always ending with a Clark 3 (not that there’s anything wrong with it)

So I came into this game against an inferior opponent wanting to see improvement on our flaws and recent troubles. Turnovers, FT shooting, defensive intensity, offensive execution. Not seeing the first two (FT and TO), but am seeing some on the latter two. Glad to see the motion offense back. A couple of defensive lapses, but overall good. However 2/5 from the line and 8 turnovers in 14 minutes (half by Hawkins) is concerning. Come on guys.

Why does Coleman not want to shoot? The team is better when he is more aggressive on O.
He had a drive open similiar to what Shannon did, but turned it down then drove into traffic for an offensive foul.

Agree, needs to balance being a point forward and taking his own offense.

We’ve got a big lead but not playing particularly well. Defense has been a bit better. Helps that AAMU is terrible.

Why do you think he was so pissed at CoHawk? Wants a leader to step up for final possession and demand the ball?

My least favorite part of Illinois basketball is watching our coach on the sideline....

Lack of personnel and ball movement towards the last 5 minutes or so.

He hasn't looked like this on the sideline since year 2 I don't think. He really seemed to be taking a more level headed approach the last several years. I liked that look a lot more. Him screaming in Hawkins face while Hawkins is staring off to the side is a very concerning look.

MM getting two fouls early in the first half has happened way too much. I was hoping once he got his fitness back it would stop, but it happened again today and the offense stagnated because of it. We looked way better when he was in.

Offensively, I agree with what several posters in here have said. Hawk needs to look for his own shot. I know the offense is setup for him to be a facilitator, but he's overdoing it. He has opportunities. He's shown he can hit those shots. If he takes them and hits them, it'll open up more passing lanes for him to make a higher percentage of those passes.

On the plus side, the effort has mostly been there on the defensive end.

a lot of standing around on the offensive side. BU probably pulling a weber and telling them to move

Watching the first half I don’t think BU liked the decision making, rebounding, and hustle out of Hawkins

Let’s see if angry BU is the right leadership style
