0440 said earlier today it was Michigan, then the same day they don't make his top 5. Something is weird in the whole thing as he always is on top of things, unless the Harbaugh stuff really took off today. After that collapse from the Colts Saturday I could see Irsay putting on the full court press.

Insiders have information from the coaching staff (or administration). Or you can be someone like Title that has insight into a specific area of HS recruiting. That said, Hill has had a quiet recruitment. Coaching staffs don't know who's leading or trailing because he's not expressing those thoughts to folks outside of his family. It's why people have been doing their best to interpret his intentions by the very few pieces of information he is providing (wearing team gloves to games, unofficial/official visits). I'm still shocked that Michigan isn't part of the top-five but these are the rare recruitments where expert predictions are close to worthless.

Usually have 1 or 2 of these higher regarded recruitments every year where the player goes completely silent. Julio Jones is the most famous case. With the caveat that anything can happen in recruiting, almost every one of the extremely quiet recruiting stories is because the player doesn't want the drama associated with public recruiting. Because of this, I would be shocked if Hill is silent all fall only to pull drama during his announcement.

That would be a pretty bad look on his part, no?
But the social media buzz would be monstrous

How does social media monetization fit in NIL? I remember Turk (Oklahoma's punter) has a YouTube channel.

I have my own method to figure out where Jyaire Hill will commit. Here is the process

1. This picture has Hill in five different jerseys. Figure out which jersey Hill looks most natural in.
2. The jersey he looks most natural in, that will be his future jersey
3. Try to get many neutrals as feasible to tell us which jersey Hill looks most natural

To me, he looks most natural in Illini navy, but it also scares me that Michigan also wear navy

I think he looks most natural in the black one in the middle that is no school. Maybe he’s announcing he’s joking the Canadian football league.

I'm going to predict that since "Where's home?" is the theme, the place that feels like home doesn't come out of left field at the last minute. He's an Illini!

I didn’t notice that until now. Good catch. Also that image of him with a black jersey on is a clue. It may be Michigan under that jersey that he’s hiding.
black jersey, so many M's...
It isn't Michigan we should fear....

Update- he is carrying sugar in the Purdue jersey, it down to Missouri and Purdue

Possibly? The NCAA doesn't move that quickly but it's possible that the staff petition for another TDV year earlier during the season. Or the NCAA is working much quicker in the past couple of years.
Or, you know, Illinois.
