I prefer seeing the playoff caliber team that DeWitt produces every year rather than what I experienced in my early years as a Cardinals fan before he took over. It's not only more profitable for ownership, it's more fun for fans. I'm sure Mets fans are ecstatic right now, but rewind 5 years or fast forward 5 years and the same may not be true.
I personally love the steadiness of this team and I don't want that to ever change. Make pragmatic moves, make a few splashes, always have a few franchise players, focus on winning culture, and let the chips fall where they may. If the process ain't broke, don't fix it. World Series Championships don't just fall in your lap. A lot of skill and a bit of luck is the recipe every year.
