One of my dad's friends taught at Concord HS and saved me a bunch of local sports page material on Kemp--I was playing a much lower-altitude brand of HS ball myself at the time... I remember one story talking about his 10-dunk game and it featured, if my memory serves, this photo:

The problem is that if you keep going South from Cook County and keep on going and going... you end up in Canada and then Milwaukee.

And then Zion and Waukegan...

No wonder so many folks get confused by Geography. We need to concentrate on something more simple like how can a Big Ten team go ten whole minutes without scoring a point.

They used to call it 'Southwest Missouri State' until changing the name to 'Missouri State'.

The University Systems like to have 'Fun with Geography!'

Think about Northwestern University. Where is that, Seattle or Portland? In 1851 when it was established Chicago was considered Far Northwest Territory. Those days are long gone but the 'Northwestern' name endures.

In Illinois we keep things simple: U of Illinois... Northern Illinois U... Southern Illinois U... Western Illinois U... Eastern Illinois U... Illinois State U...

Kemp was a beast. I think most agree that MJ is the GOAt. But in the 96 Finals I thought Kemp was the best player on the court over 6 games.

If you were trying to come up with the prototype for the perfect PF, Kemp would be right there.

I think Morez's pro comp/ceiling potential is Joel Embiid. I see KG a little as other's have noted, but Morez's body is much more built as a HS Junior than KG's was. Based on clips I've seen, styles of play are close with Morez shooting the occasional 3 as Embiid does. Obviously, Embiid is a possible future HOF'er and Morez has yet to play a game beyond HS. As such this is only a comparison of body/game style - not saying that Morez will become Embiid. At least that's the logical version of my take.

If I wanted to go full on orange kool-aid, I'd say Morez is a more-athletic Embiid with a shorter neck so no unused height. Did I do that right??
