Let me tell you that was a really uncomfortable moment in the arena. Many people were commenting on why they just left him laying there. Is there some rule about why team personnel cant come on the floor? When Garcia went down a trainer was out there pretty quick after the whistle blew. Its not the first time I've noticed that happening when an Illinois player goes down.
Those haphazard bandages for TSJs cut above the eye at the Maryland game similarly did not inspire confidence in our training staff providing emergency care. Glad DD looked to be ok after a few minutes

Want Mich St to beat IU. Then we beat NW and put us in the top 4 in the BT.

All we know for sure is that the image was made on the Illinois prairie, in the 1700's (18th century). Since Brady was born in the 1820's, it seems unlikely that he did it, despite his pioneering (yet largely unpublicized) work in digital photography, and acknowledging that the fact that time travel hasn't been perfected YET doesn't preclude the possibility). An alternate hypothesis: the image was created in the 1700's by someone using Vermeer's secret camera obscura technique from the late 1600's.
Hmmmmmmmm You may be right :) :(

I'm a believer of the ball needing to go inside on offense and then back out to the perimeter if necessary....DD may not be able to maneuver in the paint against NW...but I think he needs to touch the ball then kick back out....especially if we attempt 5-6 threes before the ball goes into the paint and come up empty...if NW plays DD straight up (no double team) which I doubt will happen, I think he gets some easy buckets and should make our 3 pt game more effective.....jmho

We have i improved three point shooting 28% to 31.5%, most likely through better shot selection. Still some room for improvement.

Illinois definitely has trouble defending intelligent guards. I think the NW game will tell a lot about the teams potential in the tournament. Can the team defend and win the turn over margin?

I don’t think we’ll underestimate northwestern this time. In fact, I expect huge games from Coleman and Mayer as they’ll want to show out

Guam will mess your sports schedule up. Nothing like watching Monday night foot ball during lunch on Tuesday

The best time zone for sports has to be mountain.

East coast I can’t stay up for games that start after 9

West coast it was too hard to get home in time for early games plus college football starts way too early

Central is not bad
Living in Mountain time zone, I agree.

Mountain is decent, but usually games start while I'm still at work or in the middle of bath and bed time for my kids, so no I rarely get to see a whole game.

On the other hand, when the kids are older it will be great.

This sounds like a question for an insider?
What’s the official rule ? What’s our procedure/protocol in such an event?

Since 1950 (when Sports Reference stops keeping track, lol...), we have faced a ranked Northwestern team TWO times - on the road in 1969 and at home in 2010, with the Illini winning both times. For a fun comparison, the Illini have been ranked for 55 separate games vs. the Cats in that same timeframe.

Bottom line is this is a massive game for the NU program given its recent momentum, and thus it is a massive game for us. Treat them with the respect they deserve (they are a very good team), but play with the pride necessary to put them back in their place.

I guess my question is...what unintelligent guards have we played against?
The younger ones who are not as methodical in driving to the basket. The guards who had really high scoring games were upper class men. They were able to get our guards out of good defensive guarding position resulting in free throws, wide open shots or layups. Penn State, Iowa, NW are the top three that come to mind. I'm sure I'm missing someone. If you watch someone like Trey Young or Chris Paul they are not super athletic but able dribble and cause the defender to get off balance and then instantly shoot or drive or draw a foul or pass to an open player if doubled. To me that is "intelligent" guard play.

If a coach or medical staff is called onto the court it becomes an automatic substitution for that player or burn a timeout. In that instance it was a tailbone....while painful but not requiring immediate medical attention.
Thx 0440. Is Dain good to go tomorrow? (This 60+ y.o. body would be out for a few months after landing like that)

I guess my problem at the time was we didn't really know what it was. I would prefer they air on the side of caution in a situation where a player lands hard on their back like that. If he has to be subbed out so be it especially since it was already a dead ball for the foul call.
