msu was up by 11 with 1:06 to go and lost in overtime by 5.....you can't make this stuff up........I thought the franny-kelly staredown was wacky , but it takes second place to the comeback by the idiots..........

I guess this outcome helps us as i was worried about msu not having to play a makeup game against the goofers.....
Shades of the fiasco regarding scUM getting that title by not playing a full schedule a few years back.......that result still burns my gonads at ole kev handing mr. coward that tainted crown ............

They also only missed 1 free throw down the stretch. So it's not like they pissed it away. Iowa just coud.not.miss.

One of my daughters and her husband are Iowa alums. He's a great sports fan, roots for his team, but is honest and reasonable with his assessments (like I try to be). I watched this whole game and waited to call him until the end of regulation, just to hear his excitement, which would have been the same as mine a couple days ago. He didn't answer, so I called my daughter. He was not home and wasn't watching the game. He had agreed to take his briother to an indoor golf range to help him (just got clubs for the first time for his birthday). I gave her a synopsis and told her if he hadn't recorded it have him call me so I can explain the entire game for him.

Updated Big Ten standings:

1. Purdue: 13-4
2. Northwestern: 11-6
3. Illinois: 10-7
3. Indiana: 10-7
3. Maryland: 10-7
3. Michigan: 10-7
4. Iowa: 10-8
5. Michigan State: 9-8
5. Rutgers: 9-8
6. Penn State: 8-9
6. Wisconsin: 8-9
7. Nebraska: 7-10
8. Ohio State: 3-14
9. Minnesota: 1-15

If we assume (as I do, relatively confidently) that Nebraska beats Minnesota at home and Purdue beats Indiana at home, these will be the standings when we square off in Columbus tomorrow:

1. Purdue: 14-4
2. Northwestern: 11-6
3. Illinois: 10-7
3. Maryland: 10-7
3. Michigan: 10-7
4. Indiana: 10-8
4. Iowa: 10-8
5. Michigan State: 9-8
5. Rutgers: 9-8
6. Penn State: 8-9
6. Wisconsin: 8-9
7. Nebraska: 8-10
8. Ohio State: 3-14
9. Minnesota: 1-16

Then we also have this action tomorrow:

#21 Northwestern (11-6) at Maryland (10-7
Wisconsin (8-9) at Michigan (10-7)
Rutgers (9-8) at Penn state (8-9)

Not sure whom to root for in the NU/UMD game or the RU/PSU game, but I VERY much want Wisconsin to win in Ann Arbor!

I still love the stare down that went on during the timeout. Earp vs. Clanton. How MSU lost that game will be one for the ages.

Sparty allowed several uncontested threes in the last minute and a half, which was borderline criminal.

Izzo now 29-28 over the past three B1G seasons. 🤔

For those who missed it (like me) here are some highlights of the MSU/Iowa game. I'm assuming Matthew Loves Ball will soon post a more complete set of highlights.

That's just incredible. I recall Duke came back from a similar deficit with a minute left at Maryland to win in OT ~ 20 years ago but I can't otherwise recall seeing anything like this.
