I think it was maybe just the wrong type of portal addition. If I'm BU, I'm thinking two "super Sr.'s" are going to come with a lot more leadership and team buy in. MM was honestly the antithesis of this for most of the year. I'd love to know more about the mid season dust up prior to Skyy leaving.
TSJ just may not be personality suited for a leadership role.
CoHawk was the natural choice, but I think he didn't assert himself early on because of the presence of guys like TSJ and MM.

It’s not due to taking transfers. I mean Pickett and Funk are transfers. Both our transfers are All B10. Our biggest issue is we don’t have an experienced PG that can shoot and since Skyy left our only PG is Epps. Good teams have good experienced PGs that can shoot and make others better. Who knows how much we miss Skyy but actually we should have Added a PG transfer too and I’m sure we will this off season

Yeah the NIL money should be spent on player retention, like the football team is doing. Not cobbling together a team of mercenaries.

Very likely Clark, Perrin, Shannon, Mayer are all at IL less than 9 months, and I can assume plenty of NIL $$$ was spent on them. Very hard to build a program that way.

We would have been much worse off. Podz has had a great year and wish we still had him. Without Shannon and Miller, who creates shots for this team? Do you think at this point in his career it would have been acceptable to hope podz could have in the big ten?

While TSJ and Matthew are available? The mistake was Clark. If Clark could have made 35 from three and ran the team we are a top four seed. He couldn’t. We aren’t. The end.

Oh I don’t. I was just replying to the poster who said they’d have to make the final four to redeem the season. I would be pleased as punch with 2 wins. We won’t get them.

Get there and all is forgiven, agree. But this is one of those first round exit teams IMO.

Maybe, but keeping Podz and making Melendez the go to guy would have made the future brighter. Instead, Melendez development was hampered by not getting that role that MM/TS took, and you lose Podz from recruiting over him

Poster suggested 6 players currently will be here next year. My guess is Lieb,Rodgers,Goode,Epps,Dainja,Harris. Would love to include Melendez, but his body language tells me otherwise.

Make our FTs and stop doing that and maybe we could win some of these games. PSU just plays much smarter than our guys do but PSU is not the most talented team. Quite frankly when that happens you gotta give some of the credit to the coaches.

Agree with that and pair with how old Penn St is experience wise they are a tough out

I wish I could explain the difference between a Pacific Northwest fan in this situation and an Illini fan or typical midwest fan.

Suffice to say the Pacific Northwest fan turns the playoff game into a celebration of themselves, a celebration of the team, and a party they were making be as loud as they could

I grew up in CU. Since I moved to Seattle and married local I have been inside pacific northwest audiences dozens of times.

They show up to cut loose.

I hope those 6 are here. Would love Hawkins back too, add in the recruits and a shooter and pg from the portal and let’s see where we fall.
