1. So glad to be in, even, better to be a little disappointed in our seed than being in the BIT! 2. Throw seeds out the window after the 4 seed level, Illinois has not played to their seeding level in the last few tourneys, so maybe this will be the year we knock off the "better seeds". 3. On the contrary, this is about as good of a matchup for Illinois as they could have hoped for. Arkansas is a defense-forward team that isn't great offensively but plays a high tempo, prone to turnovers.
Kansas is a 1 seed based on their resume rather than their efficiency, and by adjusted efficiency they're the 4th best team in the West bracket (behind UConn, Gonzaga and UCLA). They won a tough Big 12 regular season and just lost by 20 to Texas in the B12 tournament final.
