BOILER UP........................................SET !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Agree with you. But I have a complete and total lack of expectation that the B10 will even consider addressing their officiating. If they have not by now, it will never happen. They like getting 8 or 9 teams into the dance and do not care what happens after that. The Refs were balanced. They missed calls (Charges, arm grabbing, blocked shots) equally in the last 5 minutes. But maybe the Big Ten will tell their officials to start calling all this shXX. Because B1G teams need to learn to pass and shoot, not just beat each other up. PSU and NW seem to play more of an NCAA game this year, than anyone else in the B1G.
And a 13 the previous year.Purdue has lost consecutive tourney games to a 15 and 16 seeds. We'll probably never see that again.
Okay. True. Let’s chat after the next game.Bro just beat a 1 as a 16 he gets to be whatever he wants right now
And when we layoff the threes, they will shoot 60% from beyond the arc. Why, Were Illinois! If Edey comes back next year, we match up against them with 5 guard/wings
He has two years left. His senior year and then Covid. So does this loss guarantee that Edey comes back for his final year?
Except last year he was eliminated in the sweet 16 by St PetersThink Painter is in the hot seat? I mean, he hasn't made past the 1st weekend in three years. /s
Crap. I thought it was second round?Purdue made the sweet sixteen last year...
Yes, and lost to a 15 seed there.Purdue made the sweet sixteen last year...
That is beautiful. I had forgotten about that. Merrimack has to be like, seriously? Not only did Purdue lose to a 16 seed but they lost to a team that shouldn't have even been in the tourney!
FDU lost their conference tourney final to Merrimack but Merrimack was declared ineligible because they are still transitioning to D1.
Purdid.........................................Purdidn’t
Not really. Painter has been at Purdue, what... like 3 times longer than BU has been at Illinois?Wouldn’t this also apply to Underwood?
It's even worse when you compare the KenPom ranks of teams (just prior to the tournament):So now Matt Painter has lost in consecutive NCAA tourneys to a 13, a 15 and a 16 seed. And our fans complain that BU can't get out of the first weekend after losing to an 8, a 5, and an 8 consecutively.
And moments matter, too... I mean, there is a certain unlikely steal on an inbounds pass in our favor and a certain random bounce for a rebound opportunity in our opponent's favor which, had they gone the other way, would have completely changed how people view our entire history.Maybe Purdue losing reinforces that while not a complete crapshoot, this tournament was always going to be insane and people need to get off the #&$@& ledge about our own first round loss.
Winning in March isn't solely about the talent on your roster, the scheme, or motivation, it's about a million little things going right when they're trying to go wrong. Coleman nailed it in his postgame comments.
Honest, non snarky question. Why are you comparing us to Purdue? So now Matt Painter has lost in consecutive NCAA tourneys to a 13, a 15 and a 16 seed. And our fans complain that BU can't get out of the first weekend after losing to an 8, a 5, and an 8 consecutively.
