Maybe we see him go after / take the Bama or Arkansas job when they come open.It sure sounds like it's 50/50 whether he stays or not--regardless if he gets the Texas gig. Crazy times!
IF both UK and KU open up, Oats probably takes Kansas if the money is astronomical. And Kentucky goes after Musselman. JMHO.

Anyone got a Miller lite? And that’s not a play on Sean Miller….I think I legitimately just need one lol
Texas opened a new arena and practice facility this year. Frankly it's just not believable that our facilities are better to the point that it would be a factor in job preference.Five reasons:
1. Josh > CDC … It’s not even close … Illinois Boosters are WAY easier to deal with than Texas boosters …
2. We are a basketball school … Texas is not … Our facilities are ELITE
3. Sean LOVES being King … Arizona and Xavier … Dude was and is the KING of those universities … They kiss his feet … We would do the same here …
4. He could hire his son here to a Tyler type of role …
5. Texas expects national championships year in and year out … I think we’d all be okay with just getting 2nd weekend consistently with the occasional deeper run and Sean knows he can do that easily here …
The what?!?!You can imagine the things we’ve been hearing … It has absolutely been nuts since a few hours after the loss …
The video of Brad shaking up with the Texas staff really got things going …
I'm unsure on this. Billy was just extended before this season. I truly don't see the Bulls firing him because Jerry has the longest leash in the world. Its been mentioned a couple times in this thread, but there is a realistic scenario where Billy Donovan is unemployed in a couple months. (The key word being 'realistic' as opposed to the usually ridiculous speculation about NBA head coaches leaving during their season for college jobs.)
This was probably his last shot as an NBA head coach so if he decides to go back to college instead of being an NBA assistant that's a bomb dropping into the entire coaching carousel.
Sean Miller played with Orlando Antigua at Pitt. If we're talking hypothetical all star teams why not Sean Miller, with Adam Cohen, Orlando Antigua, and Tim Anderson.
If you want to walk out on us, we'll just have to go land a prettier girl
I can't keep track of all the coaches that have already turned down Texas, but I *thought* Muss was one of them? Maybe not.I’ve heard other schools besides Texas would be very interested …
One scenario … Muss goes to Texas .. Brad goes to Arkansas …

well it's already sold me, I'll chip in $20 and a case of Miller LiteYou my friend … You have found the last piece to the puzzle … Imagine that staff …
We’d need a bigger assistant $$$ pool … I’m sure Josh could make a few calls and sell that staff …
This is all hypothetical. Illinois isn't losing Underwood. But I'd do backflips if Whitman could land Miller. The guy is a proven winner at every stop. He's exactly what the entire Illini fan base should hope to get as their coach.I actually enjoy Brad. I do not enjoy Sean Miller.
Funny but it is hard to speculate just how many openings there might be in 2 weeks. Also would be interesting to know how many schools these guys agents have already talked to. My buddy at KY still says that boosters there expect Cal to leave as soon as Texas looses. If not he will most likely get the boot for not fulfilling his contract. Grab a chair when the music starts. It sure sounds like it's 50/50 whether he stays or not--regardless if he gets the Texas gig. Crazy times!
My unscientific reading of the tea leaves is that it appears Brad is looking for an avenue out, but that there may not be one at the moment. Seems pretty clear he would take Texas, but it also seems pretty clear he isn't option 1 for Texas. We will see what other jobs pop up once the dominoes fall. I think he probably ends up staying. The what?!?!
I feel like I've read everything in this forum since the loss and I'm still behind
Texas seems like exactly the kind of program that would overestimate their own attractiveness in basketball, back a dump truck of money up to guys like Oats and Musselman, then "settle" for choice #4 after the others pass while waiting for a blue blood.Just talked to a couple people tied into Texas-Brad is not in their top 3 guys, and that's if Rodney Terry is not hired. Now I am not saying 0% chance it happens, but it's very unlikely imo. Older coach with limited tourney success, their fanbase would be furious if Brad was the hire. His buyout is quite large as well which they will not like
The wild thing is that this implies he's actually sully thought about this.I’m not saying I know what Sean’s staff would be … But he made it pretty clear to me who it would be …
Sean in Chicago recruiting with TA … When NIL is legal … LOOK. OUT.
Sean’s actually a good dudeI actually enjoy Brad. I do not enjoy Sean Miller.
@Indy Illini Fan forgive me if I’m misinterpreting, but it sounds like you were referring to Miller here..Is it safe to assume that there is open, mutual interest between Whitman and Miller?I’m not saying I know what Sean’s staff would be … But he made it pretty clear to me who it would be …
