Let's play hypothetical here: say Whitman has an actual discussion with Miller's agent this weekend. The agent tells him Miller will gladly talk about the IL job after Xavier's season. Lo and behold, Xavier is bounced. Miller informally chats with JW and says he'd be very interested in the job if Underwood leaves/is fired. What does Whitman do? What would you want him to do?

This is very true I live in west texas with the biggest oilfield in the world. All of the big producers swing 2 ways Texas or Texas Tech. There is no limit to UT and Techs NIL money. The money just comes with there opinion, I think every coach is going through this now with NIL.
Musselman is not the only reason that Arkansas got all those recruits!

As a matter of perspective, one of the third generation Waltons is worth about $20 billion. That means he could write a check for $10 million each year for 2000 years if he wanted to.
My guess would be K State. That coach is doing amazing and BU loves K State. Plus Tang will be a hot item. This makes the most sense to me even though to me I'd rather coach at U of I.

On a serious note, that is really interesting. But, I don't know enough about any of it to have any inkling as to why they'd be setup better than we are.

Arkansas has more NIL than a lot of places … It’s easily top 5 in NIL … They brought in 3 MCDAA’s and get any transfer Muss wants
Having managed a country club in the Top of Texas with several Alumni to Texas, Baylor, Tech, OU, A&M, Oklahoma St. and even met T Boone several times. I assure you the Oil money is real. There is a reason Saban at Bama does like NIL! We have a great Alumni and Boosters but Oil money is just a different beast.
I also met Tech AD and a member played with Bob Knight. Knight tossed a club and the big booster said man Bob that flew better than a chair does. Jackie said he got a dirty look but Bob didn't say anything.
