It sounds like we're still looking for a front court transfer regardless, so Dain will still need to compete for the starting spot.
I feel Dains playing time at times will depend on match ups much like this year. He may improve some where drop coverage may not always be needed but quicker players are tough on D. I hope Hawk is back and we add a other stretch 4 or 5 transfer.

I hope that we have the depth and conditioning (and offensive stability for that matter) next year to throw more press out there. It would somewhat mitigate other teams (PSU anyone?) having the clock to get him iso'd on who they want. I think if he comes back in phenomenal shape, we can start dictating that matchup the other way rather than being reactive.

Playing time at the end of games has to include improving his free throw shooting %. He is a liability at the end of games shooting below 50%!

I'm glad Dain is staying. His play had good and bad moments this season, but I think he realizes that he's made a big jump already in the past year thanks to the support system here. Another year of development for him could be huge.
This was his freshman year in a way. I think with more hard work he's going to be pretty dang good.....I just hope he does put that work in.

Hearing good things about Sencire coming back as well

If

you are posting in this thread instead of coaching does this mean a transfer coming in or someone staying?
transfer out, transfer in

with Harris Goode Dainja all confirmed
That leaves RJ Epps as our starters to make a decision
TSJ and Hawkins will be a wait and see

Does that sum up our current situation?

I can't imagine TSJ staying... he's still getting mocked a lot in 2nd rounds, and he's already 23 so he is not going to improve NBA Draft. Would love to be wrong.

Coleman probably more touch and go, he did so "last year" at one point but I don't think that was a binding word or anything.

It has been said that TSJ really enjoys school and he understands coming back for more NIL and another year to work on some things.

Coleman seems like he has people around him that will help him make a good decision. Obviously, I don't know his dad. But, he's a former player and seems to have his head screwed on straight as far as I can tell. Obviously, I can be very wrong about this, but that's what I see from my 30k foot view.

With Luke and Dainja coming back we already have more returning points coming back for next season than we had for this season.
Thought we might have passed that when Sencire said he was returning!! 2..3..4..

That is a relief. Really like his potential. Did extremely well as a freshman last yr. Should improve hopefully all the way around this upcoming season.

With Dain back, who are going to be the dominant 5 men in the B1G next year. Jackson-Davis will be gone. Suspect Edey also. I hope Dickweed is done, although it wouldn't surprise me to see him back. I think Rebraca and Walker were seniors. Crowl for Wisky, Sosucko for Sparty, and Omoruyi for Rutgers will all probably be back.

Dain should be one of the top 2-3 big men. Work on his defense, which I didn't think was too bad late in the season (it was the TOs that got him limited minutes imo), and it could be hard to keep him off the floor.

Why would Edey leave?

Dickinson announced he's coming back, and I suspect Edey will come back, too.

Only because he was told to take down his original tweet saying he'd be coming back.

Given the reasoning we heard (that the staff doesn't want to create the expectation that players have to announce a return), I'm curious to see if this tweet comes down, too
Makes me wonder if Sencire was excited about coming back but the coaching staff wasn't necessarily as excited. As I too don't quite understand why Luke and Dain could post that but he can't? Unless they wanted to meet with him first? Sorta strange otherwise...
