This actually makes me kind of sad to see. This kid gave his all for three straight seasons despite being at the end of the bench all that time. I’m happy that he finally got a few chances this season even if he wasn’t the most talented player. No doubt the definition of an Every Day Guy. Wishing all the best in the future and that he finds a place where he can get the minutes he deserves
If I remember correctly (someone correct me if I'm wrong), but once you enter your name into the portal, the previous school no longer has to honor your scholarship and it is now open....Has anyone ever entered the transfer portal and then returned back to their team?

Good Luck young man you will always be loved by Illlini Nation...
You could add Kofi as well. Came in with baby fat and a little slow and worked his !!! off and listened to the coaching staff. Should have came back for one more year, but that’s his decision. That fact is, look at how chiseled he was when he left and he definitely had a steep learning curve. He benefited from all of our coaches; including OA.Ayo the “Squirrel” came here as a skinny kid from Chicago. He stuck around for three years. Listened to the coaching staff. Took the yelling and MFing like a man. Didn’t get all butt hurt. Didn’t sit on the bench pouting like a child. Worked his a$$ off. Year three he was first team AA. Year four he was an NBA starting guard in his home town. Outside of Ayo the “Squirrel” and Podz the “Cat” how much have progress have the other cats shown? That was my point.
Tevian as a rated player was definitely higher when he left…Totally agree!
We have even higher rated players leaving than you mentioned after 1 or 2 years:
Skyy = 33
Miller = 33
Curbelo = 47
Epps = 72
Smith = 79
Podz = 107
Tevian = 116
A couple of games I noticed at time outs, he was the first one up off the bench to greet and encourage players coming off the courtI hope Lieb gets the opportunity to play as many minutes and whatever style he wants, he’s more than paid his dues and put in the work here, and I thank him for it 🫡

Aaron Jordan and Da'Monte Williams were probably the most recent.Remember when a kid developed and by his senior year might not be a
starter, but a valuable contributor minutes wise? Will that ever happen again?
Who were those kids at Illinois? Neil Bresnahan ( i was pretty young,?), Tyler
Griffey, Nick Smith, Bill Cole....
And if CoHawk comes back, he would definitely fall into this category.Aaron Jordan and Da'Monte Williams were probably the most recent.
Tev Jones says helloIn all honesty outside of Podz not a single one.
Pretty sure Cohawk had the most minutes on the team last year. While not our top scorer. He was probably the top when considering total production - rebounds, points, steals, assists, and shut down defender.And if CoHawk comes back, he would definitely fall into this category.

You can't teach height.There's about 5 people on here who've been begging Lieb to start since he was a freshman who are going to take this pretty hard today.
I actually hope Ty doesn’t tweet out he’s staying. Do it old school and just come back. When people ask why no tweet or announcement, just say, “I’m Illini. Where else would I be. Still work to be done.”I would guess Ty and Sencire are pretty much as good as back, too.
Maybes for Coleman and Shannon and RJ. If we get 2/3 I’m a very happy man.
Idk anymore. I guess I just wait for May to see what the roster actually looks like
