The NBA is more complex than ever, sincerely sit down and watch a team like the Warriors, Kings, or the Bucks on defense and I would be shocked if you don't find that to be true. The amount of off-ball movement and complex actions is crazy. Most people with this lazy take point to "poor defense" and players just being able to run to the rim. The reason those lanes are so open now is because of how ridiculously good of a shooter the average NBA player is today, allowing for spacing that opens up huge lanes for athletic demigods to attack the rim (plus some gracious refereeing).
What an absolutely absurd take from the original poster... oozes with emotional response and a lack of knowledge of the pro game. Unequivocally the NBA has never been better from a talent perspective and more difficult to compete in.

Optimistic that he is phrasing it as though he is still "here" despite having his name in the Draft. Makes it sound more like a case of "I'm coming back unless I get really good feedback" as opposed to "I'm gone unless I get really bad feedback" as far as the balance of things (I may be reading too much sub-text into it)
Hope you’re right, I could see some NBA scouts falling in love with his skill set. I’m more worried about him than TJ

As a man who was "too young" for a colonoscopy but had rectal cancer at 40 anyway, I want to say thanks to Coach Underwood, and everyone else who works to shine a spotlight on this disease, in any form.
I was persistent enough to get the care I needed, and it saved my life. 3 years cancer free and counting.

If you have symptoms, or are just at that age, get scoped. Chemotherapy sucks. Radiation hurts. Surgery hurts.

You'll sleep through a colonoscopy, and wake up hungry and tired. That's all.

Get it done my friends.
I'm just full of ulcers, colon, stomach, esophagus. They go both directions when the scope me. I joke that I hope they do the esophagus first. Ulcers in the colon, but not ulcerative colitis, thank God! Hiatal hernia that lets my stomach contents (acid) flow into my esophagus when I lay flat, so I sleep at an angle.
The colonoscopy is not a big deal at all. Cleanout the day before isn't cool, but also no big deal. Absolutely get it done. I had a couple of polyps removed years ago that were nothing. If they were still there, maybe they would still be nothing, maybe they would have grown into something awful.
I actually wake up after I have been talking, getting dressed, etc for a while. My wife has to record the doctor when he tells us what he found, because I usually don't remember seeing him.

Will have an interesting decision on his hands, but I really think he ends up coming back

This is absolutely, 100% just my gut feeling, but my hunch is Coleman tests above what his stats etc showed this year. There just aren’t many guys his size who can handle, shoot, pass and guard in space. I know his %’s are low but in warmups he hardly ever misses. And he’s more athletic than you think as shown by a couple of thunderous dunks over TJD and others.

It seems to me NBA drafts mainly on potential now and Coleman’s skill set gives him the potential to be an impact player at the next level if he puts it all together. To me it’s really just a question if scouts want him to show them he can be a better shooter and less turnover prone in games. If so he comes back but as I said if it’s all about potential I think he’s gone.

Again, JMHO. But I think Coleman tests well enough to get drafted in the top 40.

Totally right as to the bolded, but that's what's on film, that's not athletic testing.

It's Terrence Shannon who's going to impress the stopwatches and measuring tape.

I think scouts are going to look at Hawkins and be candid with him that they aren't confident in him as a decision-maker with the ball in his hands. He can learn that in the NBA, certainly, and I think he has a path to a roster spot and a genuine opportunity. But if he can PROVE that at Illinois next year, all of a sudden he becomes a much more appealing package and a first round possibility in a much weaker draft.

And I think in Hawkins' head he feels like he got stuck being Mr. Fix It on this weird team of guys that weren't in sync with each other, and that on a more stable and coherent roster he'd be able to prove himself more.

Hawkins has seen that at Illinois under Underwood. Shannon hasn't, and other than just playing a bit better and scoring a bit more, there's not a whole lot left for him to show in college. He's never going to magically start going right when college guys can't stop him from going left.

My money is on Shannon going and Hawkins staying. We'll see. Both back would be awesome, neither back would be a challenge.

Can I like this post more than once?

The NBA talent level has never been better. And college basketball is worse, but NOT because players are worse, but that the talent is dispersed among more teams than 30 years ago.

Insiders, does this situation ring any bells from the 2020-21 season? I see he played six games for the team that season. Coleman seems to think it’s false. 🤷‍♂️

Former walk-on leaves program after '21. Finds the perfect opportunity to share a wild accusation off of a video of Brad getting after the team for playing bad. If any of the stuff Padilla is saying is true, we would have heard about these two years ago. Additionally, we didn't see any mass exodus from that team nor so this is so easy to sniff out.

Butt hurt because he thinks he is a lot better than he actually is

Not necessarily. College sports is an ugly business with a seedy underbelly.

Simon Cvijanovic was an attention-seeking and wildly self-interested party and not everything he said was true. The initial reaction to his comments were eye rolls too. And what happened as a result of that only happened because consequences for leadership suited the goals of those in power.

I'm not even really sure who Padilla is accusing of what exactly, but I'm sorry to hear about his negative experience. We should all want Illini athletes to look more fondly on their time here than that. Walk-ons give the program a lot more than they get.

I remember coming to my wits after an endoscopy.

I asked the doctor what he found, and he blew me off. Rolled his eyes, and said ask your wife. I thought it was pretty rude.

Then I did ask my wife, and she said that was the fifth time I had asked him if he found anything.

I believe Padilla is probably telling the truth. Every single company ever has had disgruntled employees who have had negative experiences. As long as he's an outlier, I say sorry you had a bad experience, Edgar, but overall is what it is. *shrug*

Go look at his twitter when he was here...he was loving it. No one took anything out of his room. NCAA limited number of people at the turney that year. No NIL then so I'm not even sure what he is saying with the robbed of thousands of dollars when he was here.

Servin and Lieb (I consider him a walk-on) were both freshman Walk-ons that year and seemed to be happy with their experience. Albeit, Lieb just entered the portal, but stayed two more years.

I'm sure that in his eyes that's the truth....in others eyes.....not so much

Right. Kind of what I was getting at. I doubt these are pure fabrications but there are always ex-employees or ex-players who feel like they were wronged in some way or didn't get what they deserved. Nothing more to read into it, IMO.

Not saying any of the accusations are true, but the public not hearing about something or the lack of a mass exodus should have little impact on its potential legitimacy.

If you don’t believe me ask Kyle Beach.
