If Kansas lands Oats, does anyone actually want the Alabama job?
That's an interesting question. I'm sure the money would be pretty good because they will want to stay in the national contender conversation that Oats has brought them into. But it was never a high profile job before that.

They only went to 2 NCAA tourneys between 2007-2020 and have just one Elite Eight in school history, and that was kind of a fluky run from a 20 win team in 2004.

Purdue started 2 Fr guards, including a Fr PG. Do you think those guys are going to get worse? They can return literally the whole team, but my Purdue grad buddy thinks they will lose a couple of transfers to Notre Dame, 1 being their highly rated guy sitting because of Edey, Trey Kaufman.
If Edey comes back purdue will be preseason top 5 in the country and big ten favorite most likely unanimous over msu.

KC Star is reporting that Self's press conference is a "standard" end of season, start of off-season press conference, according to a university official.

I agree. Those freshman guards will be better, and Edey won’t get easier to deal with.
I think there is a ceiling on how good those freshman guards will be, but they will be better for sure and I'm sure they will spend a lot of time working on their press break.

The biggest variable for Purdue will be Edey because for someone his size, he has been remarkably healthy in his career. Another full season with no health issues for a 7'5 guy would be very fortunate.

All the freshman need to do is be better against the press and fast tempo and they shore up one of their biggest weakness from last year. If they become better shooters on top of that then watch out. Edey clearly is the main cog in that engine if course though

I don’t think he retires … But do you really think they’d let it leak if he was ?? No shot …

If he doesn’t retire … This might be the last go around … His family wants him done … Bill doesn’t wanna go out like this and wants to put another big run together … His family understood that …

They hit their ceiling last year. By adding Booker and Fears among others MSU has a lot of upside
If we land a stud PG, do good in the portal adding shooters, Hawk with what's coming back then I like our chances! Why not us? Especially if TSJ comes back i wouldn't bet against the Illini with solid PG play and added shooters, no way! We were looked at as the most talented team this year but lost our PGS and Goode. I think we will be better next season if Hawk returns and the portal works as rumored in our favor I am confident we will be. I honestly believe Hawk, TSJ, and euther rumored PG transfer would all be p
All B10.

I could see him saying I plan coaching at least x many years but who knows. I don’t see him ending his career like this unless he is forced

Jay Wright doesn’t seem to miss coaching

Boeheim in recent interviews has said what hurt them recently was the transfer portal(cites Pitt and NC State as examples of teams who had worse rosters than Syracuse but got better due to the transfer portal). Boeheim didn't play that game as much so that's his reasoning. He preferred continuity and thought he had a decent roster coming back for this year(might just be wishful thinking on his end)

Boeheim took at least two transfers off of us, that I can think of - Alan Griffin and Ryan Blackwell. Is he now claiming principled opposition, or something less revisionist?
