Haha. I mean no disrespect. The modern game is based more on metrics. Comprehensive analysis has been done on rebounds. Mid range shots are only rebounded by offensive players about 15% of the time. Crashing the glass as a mid range shooter is more likely to lead to fast break points for the opposition than an offensive rebound. 3 pointers are actually recovered by the offense at a slightly better rate, but that is usually because the offensive team’s non shooters get in position to get the long rebound. The shooter is not in the best position to get the rebound. His job, usually is to get back on defense. If you are taking shots inside 10 feet, then yes, you should crash the glass. That’s kind of obvious though.
I agree with you and so does the best hs coach that I've coached under, but this argument always makes me think of the exception to the rule

If we get a first team MVC player that averaged almost 17/gm to come off the bench for us……. You take pie when pie is passing.
If he's coming off the bench, that's fine. The issue is playing 5th year seniors that will only be here one season, over younger guys that you are trying to develop. I don't think many will be happy if this guy was playing ahead of Rodgers, Goode, or Hansberry.

I know 🤣 battle89 wrote a better version of the same joke - I wish Podz had stuck here too but it worked out better for him (us, not so much in hindsight).
I wished he could have stayed and played, but I think Underwear had him slotted as a mop up time guy. He would’ve had a hard time getting playing time. He is a rare example of a good use of the transfer portal.

We should be keeping a close eye on Ryan Nembhard. Another on of those, why is this guy transferring situations, where surely the only answer can be $$$.

If he ends up at Arizona, and that pushes Kylan Boswell to the portal, Boswell is instantly by far and away the best PG option in the portal.

For sale: official French Army rifle. Never fired. Dropped once.

How many French does it take to defend Paris?
Nobody knows. It’s never been tried.
PJ O’Rourke has about the best French quote out there though

Was he having any difficulty with one eyelid when he told you that?

I can't believe it's still standing.

And with Boswell, I'll believe it when I see it. I'd imagine Nembhard isn't going to Arizona if he isn't a starter. So unless Lloyd plans on starting 2 PGs, no way I'd stay if I was Boswell.

Would Boswell really be the top pg in the portal if he were to enter?

Heard there was this kid from SIU on campus today, Damascus I think. Like the steel knives. they're pretty cool and swirly and kinda remind me of pru and his posts. I hope I see one of his posts today. I also heard something about a parrot? maybe that Damascus kid has one. they're really cool birds. I had one stand on my head in Hawaii. this parrot I heard talked about seems particularly crazy tho. Somehow it has 1300 kids in it. Did it eat them? I feel like this should be a bigger news story, right?

This is D1 college basketball. Best players play, and all 3 that you mentioned would play significant minutes.

A borderline 5 star guy with 3 years of eligibility left, who could be better?

If you're asking most accomplished, definitely not. Tyger Campbell is a 3 time All Pac 12 1st team player. But I'd toss him in a second for Boswell, because Campbell is a rent-a-player and Boswell is someone you can build a program around. That is a huge deal.

FYI; During the first battle of the Marne, 900,000 French soldiers along with 100,000 British successfully defended Paris against a German attack that came within 40 miles of the city. Over 30,000 French were killed during the battle and another 200,000 were wounded.

Looking back in my memory bank of this game, I just remember the dominating final score and had no memory of being down early in the 2nd half.

The dunk, however, I distinctly recall.

not if he entered, but he at least would be a very good one with local ties. He was semi-underutilzed, has experience, and is honestly a freshman at age. He started to show some promise at end of year and seems like the type to really develop.
