1. He’s not a point guard
2. Doesn’t really matter how he feels. Staffs job is to build the best roster possible and if that moves Buck down to 8 or 9th in the rotation so be it
Sencire also doesn't impress me as someone who would back down from a challenge vs pushing himself to his own limits

I guess I risk getting sarcastic responses, too, but I thought @grue2’s questions were pretty good. Do you have responses or just sarcastic memes? Maybe I missed the answers earlier in the thread?
Harmon is just a depth piece coming off the bench. With how some of the fans are reacting, it’s like he’s their biggest target in the portal.

Hey it could be a pre boom too since there are going to be more additions at some point 🤣
Pre-boom?

I'm skeptical on Harmon because I'm not seeing anything that stands out positive, and I'm seeing some warning signs. Its really hard to find any clips of him other than the one vs. Cincinnati.

I don't see outstanding athleticism in any of the reports.
34% from 3 (up from 30% as a FR)
~45% from 2
Assist to turnover ratio of 0.9 as a guard
He earned 6 Technicals last year. (As chippy as DMW could get, he only got Technicals 6 in his career at IL.)
His efficiency went down from FR to SO year.
I'm not seeing articles commenting on his defense. In 2022/23, TWO of his teammates were All-defense. In 2021, a different (third) was all-defense. Again, he was not.

Comparing Harmon to Feliz:
Feliz was a defensive pest.
Feliz had a 1.5 AST/TO ratio vs. 0.9 for Harmon.
Their shooting from 2 and rebounding are about the same (per time in career).
Harmon is a better 3pt shooter. I'm not thrilled with a 34% 3P shooter taking many 3s.
Feliz kept things under control.

As I said - I'm skeptical. Brad has shown that he can identify talent. (I give him a pass the first year as he needed to fill the roster.)
Those are Sophmore and Junior Year stats. I think he went to a Juco his freshman year. I Google his name and there’s a 4 minute long clip of highlights against other teams (Wake Forest included) where he looks pretty athletic. The clips ahow he does have some play-making/passing ability but they also actually show some turnovers.

From the videos against Cinicnatti and that video, he looks pretty athletic to me. I’ll trust the coaching staff.

Some schools list you as a Jr because they know you have the covid year left. Harmon played 2 years at Barton Community College according to his Utah Valley bio.

Got it. Nice catch. It lists his 2nd year at Barton (20-21) as RS-SO and says they only played 22 games. That was the COVID year. Then 21-22 is listed as his SO year at Utah Valley.

Which is solid. Better than what we had at pg last year
Standing next to the shortest kid doesn't make you any taller. It's not going to get any easier moving up to the Big Ten. Looks like both in community college and Utah Valley his first season he shot 30% from 3 and the 2nd season 34%. Would tell me adjusting to better competition was a challenge but he was able to adjust and improve. But that also makes me expect him to shoot 30% from 3 next season after another step up. If he shoots 34% that would be great, if he shoots any better that's a very nice shock.

But if I'm expecting 34% at best from a 2G. That is not exactly enthralling. Neither of these 2 commits particularly excites me. Though I'm on record as saying I prefer younger players that can develop. However, if this very poorly shrouded rumor that Tyger Campbell will join the team is true, then it's possible both of these guys are backups. Then you say fine, you're not going to get top transfers to come if they're not going to start.

Our bench just got a whole lot better….Domask, Goode, Harris, Harmon, Hansberry, DGL, Moretti. I keep adding players. Lol
A whole lot better, even at the walk on position. Left a scholarship to be a walk on. Our bench is going to be some teams starters. Brad is putting all the right chess pieces in place right now, he does not like losing. I think we are going to be in for an exciting end to the transfer season. And this team will be heading overseas to build a bond and play some games in August so they will have film to study before non-conference starts.

Look out. Whoever Brad puts together this year will be scary for any team whom steps on the floor with us. I’m excited.

Coleman, you're a senior now. How about you and I be honest about what each of us want out of this? I want to milk the last ounce of college basketball you got in you, and you want the NIL and a chance to win. Let's do that. Now, I'm not paying you for the player you used to be - I'm playing you for the player you are right now. You're smart, you get what we're trying to do here. Make an example for the younger guys, be a leader. Can you do that?
Just watch this the other day.

This will be annoying, since it's all about questions. 1. My head is starting to spin; can someone please summarize the transfers who are commited to us? From what I can tell, they all have just one year of eligibility left? 2. Can Hansberry shoot? 3. From all I've been able to tell, Morez Johnson is a 6-10 athletic freak without a jump shot? Please tell me I'm wrong? 4. Not a question--I expect DGL to start at the point for us next season with Moretti also getting substantial minutes. From all I can tell, we're putting together a roster that will significantly upgrade our distance shooting. This post is a hodgepodge, and I apologize; but I'm just an old man trying to keep up. Peace. downey

I think intents may have been misread. I was surprised he was taken as a bench player.

If, as people intimate, TSJ and Coleman come back, and 2 more major transfers occur, that would seem to put him on the edge of, or outside the rotation this year, and questionable next year with the incoming recruits. There is a non-trivial chance he is going from 30m/game to almost none. Having some age on the roster next year as a stabilizing factor seems like a good idea. The number of technicals raised my eyebrows for this role. (Who knows, they could be RJ style technicals.)

Maybe there was enough NIL to make it worth his while. Even 10k/year for two years makes it a whole lot easier starting out life.

We added two mid-major transfers on April 10th that are both 1-year rentals. (Also added a preferred walk-on from a mid-major). As far as buzzwords like "signifiant upgrade", well... time will tell, hopefully so!

From what I’ve been reading, I wouldn’t count on DGL to start and I wouldn’t count on significant minutes for Moretti. And Morez still has one more year of high school.

RayJ is a nice player who could really help us, but the trio of Domask, Harmon, and RayJ would strike me as extremely strange, for the lack of targeting a truly knock-down outside shooter.

All three of them have spent their college careers as volume scorers, as has TSJ, and we're hypothetically going to stick them all together on the same team with marginal at best jump shooting around them?

I don't quite get it.
If all 3 can combine avg 35% from 3p consistently that would be good.
