Ive always been a big fan of Johnies in Elmwood Park on North Ave ever since I lived with wifey in an apt in River Forest at Lake & Bonnie Brae from 1984-1987Italian beef: Not relevant.
I absolutely agree with you 100%.Prospects entering the portal, prospects committing to other schools, thoughts about potential lineups and player fit, opinions on commits' games, upcoming dates/deadlines, recruiting ranking updates. All is relevant and would not make the main page.

Interesting. Thanks for the info. Question for you - what brings you to the Illinois boards?Tennessee grad here. Look no further than about 5 years ago when Charlie Ergen’s alumni fund pushed Jim Haslam out as the funding partner of choice for Tennessee athletics. Charlie is the founder of Dish Network and is a friend of fellow Tennessee grad Min Kao (of garMIN). Their group has DEEP pockets and Barnes has performed better than Altman lately.
also Jean and Judes in the same neck of the woods, and Booby's in Niles, got the love the Big Boob samichIve always been a big fan of Johnies in Elmwood Park on North Ave ever since I lived with wifey in an apt in River Forest at Lake & Bonnie Brae from 1984-1987
Used to be a waiter at Alexander’s Steakhouse in Springfield. Great job and food.Alexander’s closed. Krekels in Champaign closed. Bunny’s very underrated food for a small hole in the wall bar. Smith burger is phenomenal though

Like this…..Just curious, how is all this burger talk and baseball discussion allowed on the Illinois basketball recruiting page?
Name checks outIt would be appreciated to have a separate "off-topic" thread for people who need to post regardless of it's relevancy to the topic at hand (i.e. recruiting).
The idea of "there's nothing going on, so let's have hundreds of posts about an irrelevant topic to fill the gap" is not sensible. It's fine conversation, but the recruiting thread is not where those posts should be.
I understand that's extra work for Dan, and therefore I have no sense of entitlement it should happen.
But this thread is the perfect of example of why it would be beneficial.

I tried to stay on the food sidelines but Johnnie's pulled me in. Fabulous food, love their combo (Italian sausage and beef), fries are great and they make their own Italian ice.Ive always been a big fan of Johnies in Elmwood Park on North Ave ever since I lived with wifey in an apt in River Forest at Lake & Bonnie Brae from 1984-1987
Must be coachable. If Brad yells jump, he jumps. If a player has to ask how high, he's not paying attention. And, we need a veteran point 5 with 45% 3pt, triple double potential and 5yrs eligibility. I have high standards
Good question…..my parents are from western Illinois (well my whole family really) and my dad and uncle both went to Illinois. I grew up watching Kurt Kittner throw bombs to Brandon Lloyd and watching HRF and crew on the hardwood. I went to high school in Tennessee, but had dual residency in Illinois for college because my dad was active duty. Chose Tennessee over Illinois because of a friend, who then backed out right before freshman year started.Interesting. Thanks for the info. Question for you - what brings you to the Illinois boards?

Oh yes. I still pull for Tennessee too, but given Illinois playing Tennessee, the Beloved is who I’d root for.Got it, great story! So you root for Illinois then yeah?
