Anything short of 25 wins, a 4 seed, and an EE will be an abject failure, no ifs or buts.

I want the illini to break golden states 73 win regular season record next year. No excuses!

OTSS - only the strong survive! Break down!

Trying to figure out starters and minutes with this roster isn’t possible at this point.
Depth chart:5. Dain, (Hawk), Hansberry, Q
4. (Hawk, Q, Hansberry, Luke
3. Q, Luke, Marcus, Ty,
2. Marcus, Ty, Justin, Sencire,
1. X, Sencire, Ty, Justin, DGL, Moretti
A lot of talent, a lot of size, fit? Trust the coaches I guess.
Assuming Hawk back and TJ gone from no inside source but my guess.

A little look at what we have coming.

I know those are highlights, but I like how much strength and aggression he displays. Good rebounder and a physical player. His efficiency isn't great (58% FT, 42% FG, 35% 3P), and I'm not sure he was considered a plus defender. Is he expected to be a starter?

Insurance if we lose CoHawk to the NBA, but a depth piece should CoHawk return.

Imagine how good he may be without having to deal with those silly trees on the homecourt!

Werner made a good point. If TJ and CH come back and someone like RayJ joins, the Illini roster would have something like 500 career starts between them. That is an unbelievable number.
The conversion between "total starts" and "starts on the same team" is not 1-to-1, though.

Last year, we brought in a bunch of freshmen to play significant minutes and asked former college role players to be our stars. We were relying on players to successfully make a jump for us to become the best version of ourselves. The results were an extremely mixed bag. Some players came through and some really didn't. This year, we're bringing in 3 fifth-year seniors and are asking them to either play roles they've previously played or take slightly less playing time. Basically, we're just asking extremely experienced players to just keep on doing what they've already shown they can do. If the roster fills out how we're hoping it does, it feels like we've cut out a lot of the unknowns that ended up hurting us last season. I think it's a sound strategy.
The main problem with last year's team was lack of a capable PG. The other stuff mattered but wasn't the main problem.

Same thing this year. If we're unable to bring in an experienced quality PG, we probably won't be that good. The good thing is that if we get someone like RayJ or Tyger, they're a lot less likely to bolt than Skyy Clark.
