Last offseason, nobody had Purdue as #1. That’s why it’s healthier to step outside for a few months and enjoy the {insert your crappy version of spring weather} but we can’t because the dopamine hits of new recruiting information (real, imagined or fap fantasy) pulls us back in like Al Pacino. 🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️.
Just wanted to make sue “fap fantasy” wasn’t overlooked 😆

I remember people saying he was a possibility if he entered the portal, but I don’t remember “lock” being used.
Yeah, it seemed like the insiders were hearing about some positive talk between the two parties (Illinois and Tyger’s people) but as @ChiefGritty said many times, that one would have just been WAY out there to actually pull off.

Crazier things have happened sure, but to hit on that one would have been a small percentage grand slam.

I think RayJ has always been the more realistic option. And even with our current “lock” level confidence you should never count it as done until he’s here and signed up.

247 - 58
ESPN - 27
Rivals - 57
On3 - 53

Anybody know when each site does a major re-ranking? I know ESPN just did one.

I’ve followed recruiting for too long to view anything as a done deal until the kid is actually suiting up for us.

Wouldn’t surprise me if Coleman plays well or shows enough of his tools to scouts to the point where he’d stay in the draft. I think he’d look even better surrounded by NBA players to play off of.

He’s already got a great defensive IQ and versatility. On offense he wouldn’t have to run point but he could show his skills as a secondary playmaker and these guys would finish his passes better. If he steps out and hits some threes and does some decent post moves he’s probably good enough to go. Teams just need to see the skills even if he’s still raw because they probably trust their player development enough anyway.

They can say hello from different positions/roles while on the same court. 🙃
For sure, I feel Domask is being way undervalued simply because he is from the Valley. BU wanted him for a reason. Piper and others are very in tune. They have stated that RJ is more athletic however Domask has a much better skill set and is an upgrade. He was first team all conference and has the focal point if opponents. He was one of the best 5 in the entire Valley! Domask will likely be our best shooter and is solid all round. If RJ was likely to start then why do so many feel Domask who is likely better and brings much needed shooting won't?
My thoughts on the line up are if guys are back:
Vet PG
TSJ
Domask
QG
HAWK

If Hawk leaves toss in Dain.

After last years struggle shooting i expect 2 of Domask, Goode, and QG to be on the floor most of the time along with the pg. We must have improved shooting, passing and cutting next season. Ty will get his starters minutes playing in many spots since he is so versatile and does many things well but we need 2 shooters out there at all times. Usually there is a correlation between FT shooting and outside shooting. I expect Domask who is a 87 percent from the line to shoot at or over 40 percent from three in his role where others are the focal point of our opponents defenses. We needed more shooters and he will be our best.

Yeh someone had Goode over Domask. I believe Domask starts day one.

A good PG will create spacing which will improve our shooting. We need a floor leader with the ball.

Having trouble not seeing Dain as a starter. Playing he, Hawk and Q together gives us rim protection and rebounding. Just don’t know under that scenario if Goode and/or Domask can guard a 2. Lots of mix and match possibilities if both Hawk and TJ are back.
Am also interested in where Harris will fit in. No one gave him a chance of seeing any minutes last year and he was a significant contributor. Know all the experts on here have ignored any possibility of he and Ty being able to shoot with their horrible form. Not an expert but would seem it would have been adjusted last summer by our coaches if that horrible. Defense doesn’t ever seem to get the attention here that offense does.

TY needs to work on shooting the elbow jumper and mid-range shot as his size is great against smaller guards to post.

Shannon-pretty likely as of now
Coleman-up in the air (combine/feedback will have a significant impact)

There's someone they really like if Coleman stays in
Thanks.

My own worthless opinion is both are in that late second/FA territory. Athletic enough, but a lot of guys like them.
Both can make a roster someday in right situation and getting a better jumpshot.

Watching Meanstreets vs a very good Vegas Elite. Morez needs to take over Ala last game.

Coleman seems like a pick 22-45 guy to me. I can see teams taking a swing on his potential, with the belief that he has major talent and is a smart player that could benefit a lot of added space and a smaller, more defined role. He's still very theoretical in a lot of ways, but teams know he can defend and the chance of him becoming more consistently like Syracuse-Coleman is incredibly enticing. He's also relatively young in terms of in-game reps. I wouldn't be surprised if he went in the late first to a playoff team that wants to have a guy like him locked up on a cheap contract for 4 years. If he stays in the draft, I'd like to see him land on Golden State with their pass-happy offense.

TSJ is the one that is less unique in skills and measurements (crazy thing to say for a freak like him, but it's true), and the one that scouts have had much greater time to nitpick over his college career. I'd be surprised if he went above pick 40.
