Where are you seeing that? Personally, I'm not sold on him (but I'm no expert). I think he can be a good off-the-bench shooter, similar to Sean Harrington. But I don't see him being a main cog in this program.Sounds like Certa to Norte Dame
Show me literally ONE comment where anyone has tried to push him out the door and anyone throwing shade. I'll help you out, you won't find one because it doesn't exist. Saying a player won't get playing time because he is too small, can't play defense and has TWO 5th year Seniors ahead of him (if RayJ commits), is not throwing shade or pushing him out the door. It's just logical thinking.DGL Committment thread.
If you're curious what the mood of the board was when DGL announced he was coming, here's a link. Insiders down to lurkers were pretty excited. Remarkable how now we've got some almost trying to push him out the door. I'm not sure I've ever seen a commitment go so sour. Usually we just get wildly over optimistic prognostication. With this one we have a bunch of people throwing shade and already insinuating that he made a bad decision coming here.
No one has taken their info and claimed it as their own. Also, its crazy how its okay if the people with the other "takes" are okay to state their opinions, but if someone states their "take" that agrees with the insiders info it's suddenly not okay. There sure is a lot of parroting of insiders bootstrapped with insults to others. I love their information as much as anyone but when did adopting it as your own and attacking anyone who has a different “take” become such a thing?

This discussion around Ty is nuts. Last week he was going to average a double-double and lead the team in assists. Now he’s our largest offensive liability?
Does he need a jumper? Not really. Would a midrange jumper be helpful? Yes. Will Ty be able to space the floor next year? Signs point to no, but that doesn’t mean he isn’t working on it.
Will he be able to create his own scoring opportunities through hustling and being a menace? Absolutely. And that has been Ty’s role so far in his young Illini career, and he’s damn good at it, too. Some might even say elite.
My buddy has a kid on the BCC team. He’s committing tonight or tomorrowWhere are you seeing that? Personally, I'm not sold on him (but I'm no expert). I think he can be a good off-the-bench shooter, similar to Sean Harrington. But I don't see him being a main cog in this program.
Ty is a lottery pick next year if he has a jumper. Regardless of team needs or how he fits on offense, developing a jumper should be his top priority if he wants to make the jump to the NBA.This discussion around Ty is nuts. Even if it is one guy, they’re making too much noise about one issue that will be addressed over the summer (hopefully).umm, it's ONE guy.

My first thought as well, kid is smooth. Long list of potential suitors you would imagine though
would be a dream if Hawkins decides on not coming back
Bruce Douglas pushed 2 year starter Derek Harper to SG.
I believe this is the guy that Indy was referring to when he said there was a guy nit yet in the portal who will replace Hawk if he stays in the draft.

No, I was just to the dance party, as usual.Sorry - I've been stuck a couple of pages back for the last 2 hours. Did I miss anything?
maybe no threat from 3 and you can sag off him, but I doubt the scouting report says you don't have to guard him. If you don't guard him he is going to get an offensive rebound and score more times than not.The trouble with Ty is that he's no threat to score. You don't actually have to guard him. Even though they may be young, I think we'll be happy with Gibbs-Lawhorn and Moretti at pg, esp. after they get half a dozen games under their belt. More than anything else, we need shooters.
