Real interest … He likes the idea of playing with Phoenix …

And everyone can say MSU this and that … No guarantees Izzo is even there by that time … Huggie 🐻 is likely on his last ride … Self gets another title and he’s got the team to do it now … Could be his final ride and Izzo has himself quite the squad as well …

I had an agent tell me he wouldn’t be shocked if all 3 of those guys are preparing for one last ride … Loaded squad to make another title run and ride off into the sunset …

One last ride? Can Juwan join too?

Transferring and no sit out will damage the College game. No team/ school identity and rivalries will suffer with all this free agent junk.

I tend to think the free market will work this out eventually. If fans don't like the model, they'll tune out, and both players & institutions have some power now to get what they want.

Personally, I think it would be an improvement to have a simple rule that allowed movement, maybe restricting eligibility once the season starts, and having a small sit-out based on how many times a player moved. Something like first transfer, 6 games. Second 12, Third and beyond 18. The reason I suggest a sit-out is that it would lower their NIL value to the new school while still giving them a high level of freedom to choose a new school, if that's what they wanted. I think the tricky part is finding the right balance --something that works for both sides. Maybe the NCAA doesn't even need to do it --the people providing the NIL money can try to standardize what they offer. The problem with using NIL is if it was low to begin with, it isn't much of a disincentive, and having to negotiate every deal with custom terms adds complexity. OTOH, the P5 might prefer that, since they're the destination schools, have the support staff, and are happy to poach smaller schools when guys make a big leap.

Late to the fry party but…that is actually why their fries suck. The primarily accepted culinary technique to make perfect French fries is the double fry. Partially fry the fresh potato, remove it and chill (freeze) it, and then fry it to finish and serve after it’s been chilled. Crispy outside, fluffy inside.

However, in and out has a fresh, never frozen, food policy. So their own rules don’t allow them to use the double fry technique, despite it being accepted as the best culinary way. They are literally doing it to themselves.

That said, Ty Rodgers is a really good player. Consider the positive impact he has on games without the ability to shoot, the way basketball is played right now. It almost doesn’t make sense how effective he is. Normally, if you have a player whose shot isn’t falling, you tell them to find ways to positively impact the game in other ways. Ty does that.

Does his shot need to get better? Absolutely if we want to become the best version of our team, AND if he wants to become the best version of himself. I’d also add that he needs to get more comfortable finishing left handed at the rim. He had a lot of opportunities on the left side where he still tried to inside scoop with his right hand. Fixing one of those 2 things immediately makes him more dangerous. Fixing both, we have a great developmental sell for recruits, about how we took a guy who made zero shots outside the paint his freshman year and turned him into a lottery player.
Double fry is usually refrigerated, not frozen after the first fry....

So, In an Out can adhere to the "never frozen" policy and still utilize the double fry technique using refrigeration instead of freezing.

I'm in 100% agree with your Ty Rodgers take.... particularly the weird reverse looking right had shot from the left side.

Ty's growth and confidence within his first year gives me confidence that year two will bring great things.... including some adaptation of his right hand from the left had side finish.

What are your thoughts on Phoenix as a player (before we start a multi-page list of attributes on the city, I'll clarify; I'm talking about Kendall's son)? Any prediction on where 247 comp will have him ranked, # of stars, and/or what other programs would be involved if he were not already viewed as a lock to come to us?

Top 150 when it’s all said and done probably …

Need to see this coming HS season to really get a feel …

With that kind of clarification, you are almost asking for it from this lot :)

Certa committed to ND on his twitter
This doesn't really both me. I'm still not sold on him. He can shoot, but can he do anything else at a P6 level?

I'm for one happy that we didn't get him AND he's not playing in conference, so if I'm (and less importantly Underwood) wrong, then he won't haunt us.

That said, the question is, did we lose him or not push for a committment?

BU seemed all in on Certa for a while... What happened with that recruitment? I'm honestly not too disappointed, especially since he won't be in the Big Ten (just in case he becomes a stud).
