Nothing about Chase having 340+ carries signifies our running game looking fine. If the backups were trusted/healthy enough to take carries away from Chase... they would have.

Tea leaves are saying McCray is looking much improved after spring. If McCray is back and Love repeats his '22 performance, I'll feel good knowing that the other rotational backs like Anderson, Laughery will be successful behind a solid offensive line. The hope is Altmyer + great WR corps will mean the team only needs 70% of Brown's performance from the '23 RB group.

McCray looked good in the scrimmage, I know it wasn’t against no.1 defensive guys but he was noticeably quicker imo. I do agree his numbers were ugly last year, I’ll blame that on not being healthy since his freshman year he played and was effective when he played.
Love showed enough last year to prove he’s capable of being a starter or splitting reps with mccray. I personally am not worried about the running game and have enough faith in altmyer to be as good if not better than devito. I do believe devito came in with question marks after being replaced in 2021 before entering the transfer portal and deciding to coming here. Altmyers biggest question mark is just not any playing time outside a bowl game as a freshman right?

Just you.

And, I am concerned about both of you. : )

"A bit ...." does not cut it.
Yeah. based on personal experience with my father, you're not too concerned with your health until you're suddenly made aware of the consequences and by that time it can be too late. Hope this doesn't happen to Bret. Coach, get your health in order NOW.

He might look it….but he ain’t lol
Seems like Lovie and Brad went along with the idea Whitman wanted his coaches to get in and stay in shape. Looks like he is not much encouragement for coach B. Wasn't that kind of a prerequisite for Whitman that they try to get in shape? Did he scrap that when he hired coach B? Id like to know if Whitman ribs him for not working out. 😁

That's never been a prerequisite from Josh for any of the coaches

I really don't understand why so many people comment on Bret's weight. Sure, he's not in the shape of his younger years or maybe even where he wants to be, but what is that to any of us? I know I for one, have 25 lbs. to lose but choose to ignore it for a few lattes....
I know it comes up every so often, but I think it comes from the place of not wanting to lose the coach that has us in our best spot for success since White/Mackovic. I think I'm also concerned because he has 2 little girls that need him around too. I have never seen comments here mocking his weight; they typically come out of concern for his well-being, especially with knowing how much of a grind being a head coach is these days.

Because obesity as defined by BMI is significantly related to major health issues (e.g., increased rates of cardiovascular disease, diabetes, hypertension, kidney disease and stroke) which is manifested by significantly higher mortality rates and much shorter life expectancies. Fans wish him a long healthy life and are concerned by his high-at-risk.

Well aware of this and I am as well a fan that wishes him a long and happy life. But let's not forget that mental health is also a thing and when people are discussing your weight and health on the internet, that can also take a toll. I think he's well aware he's got young daughters, a wife and family that needs him around. We as fans can wish all of this for him, but maybe we keep it to ourselves or off the internet...? Guess I'm speaking for myself when I say I'd rather not read or hear about people talking about his health or weight. I'll leave any further comments of this topic to myself.

Life is full of choices and we ALL get to make them. The choice is HIS.

I hope he's required to get a thorough physical examination every year.
It is funny what certain insurance companies/doctor's offices consider thorough physical examinations and wellness checks these days

My doctor said we will do a yearly wellness check....totally free

If they call it a physical examination you have to pay the full amount(small Copayment for me in that instance)

Dr walks in and gives you the same thing just by a different name ;)

I agree with djkirkpatrick22. Physical and Mental health are equally important. BB is a head football coach of a college football team so there will always be a ton of stress on both aspects. I will leave that to him as not my business but at leat he is surrounded by a great team of medical professionals in the area.
