So I'm RayJ.....

I have a good idea where I'm ending up......

However, I get once in a lifetime opportunities to be a big-time recruit.
Get flown to different campuses.
Get treated like a King on multiple levels.
Listen to how much they want me there.
Listen to how much money I will receive from NIL for playing there.

I'm taking those visits.

Then going where I was going to go all along.
My theory on RayJ is that he is functioning like a restricted Free Agent. Perhaps the Illini told him to see what kind of offers were out there and ultimately give them the opportunity to match once he has tested the market.

Close. More so of a kid taking advantage of getting paid to go on free college visits. The Utah visit says it all lol

Just a negotiation tactic right now. Trying to see how much he can get from us in NIL.

We will end up matching any offer. Don't be scared.

TSJ & Hawk though....We have some backup options already lined up but all would be downgrades (TSJ would be in the conversations of All American and BIG-10 POY if Edey leaves)

If both leave, we will still be a tourney team but National guys would have us outside the top 25 and middle of the pack BIG-10.

TSJ is the most important domino to fall this entire offseason. He loves school and wants to come back...but you can't pass up a 2-mil, 2 year deal like Ayo got if he is projected low 30s and someone gives him a guarantee. Hawk really wants to go pro and live his dream. Strange since he has the most to gain by coming back... Some are saying it's leveraging NIL/Coleman doing Coleman things. The same thing happened last year with his portal talks (and it got him more money)

Wouldn’t be a bad idea if you had a guy you knew was committed do a little diligence work for you to see how other programs are pitching NIL, not sure Utah would be a target.

Or Michigan since Dickerson made less than 6 figures last year.

RayJ Dennis makes us a tourney team 100%, with a chance to be a top 7 seed.
Shannon coming back + RayJ makes us a top 5 seed next year barring injuries. Really good backcourt and one of the best players in the country in Shannon plus great experience with the other guys.
All 3? Sky is the limit

we already tried the Skyy experiment and I didn't like that ;)

Watch them become an absolute NIL Era powerhouse at finishing second in recruitments. :ROFLMAO:
Similarly, I vividly remember going to the Arizona State campus when we took them on in football (ugh that was an ugly bloodbath of a game) and within seconds of seeing the talent of their ummm college body, I was deeply regretting not going there for college, instead. Champaign was a nunnery by comparison, lol. They should be pulling in 5 star recruits on the daily to visit.

Oh I see someone thinks they’re too good for gifs.

I agree, but can we stop using the words "sky" from now on? We could create a new catchphrase. "Trump Tower is the limit" or "outerspace is the limit"

The problem with a “guarantee” for the player is it’s in the nba teams best interest to say this to a guy to keep him in the draft even if it’s more of a “we like you a lot and if there’s nobody better we want to take you”. on draft night what happens when a guy you had 10-15 picks higher falls to you? Honor your promise to a no name guy - nope you’re taking the top guy on the board.

and risk having that agent tell every other agent and every player? No way they risk it. BUT, this is why guarantees don't happen very often.

Can speculate all you want on "what you would do but no one really knows. Its not even confirmed that these were OVs or UVs. Regardless, he could end up here but right now it's not good news that he's visiting elsewhere. He's not taking 5 visits over 5 weeks, its a strict schedule so not like he's partying it up at all the spots. He's gather info to make the best decision at the end of the day

The phrase "Sky is the limit" now means they'll be irrelevant by the end of January.
