At points last year(more than a few) he(CH) was boo'd at home and harassed on social media and even on this board. He took a lot of blame. I'm a huge fan of his given everything he was being asked to do. Other fans didn't see it that way. Putting money completely aside, would any of you forget that? If you were his parents, would any of you forget that?

That's where my concern, when it comes to this decision, comes in. Our insiders seem to be extremely confident, which makes me feel better because his role can't be duplicated by anyone else on the roster.
While I get what you're saying, I think every Illini fan (A) would welcome him back with open arms and (B) if they saw his interview after the Arkansas loss, they loved Coleman SO much more. The (B) group might be relatively small, but man ... I really felt for him in that interview, and it definitely changed my perspective on the young man and the role he was sort of forced into this year. I desperately want TSJ and Coleman both back!

If he's worried about getting boo'd then he only has one option - he needs to pull out of the draft and go play at a school who doesn't care about big time college hoops.
I don't boo our players. I think most put in a lot of time and hard work. I don't think most fans do either. They are certainly trying to do their best. I do get frustrated at coaches for leaving players in when they don't do as they are told to run plays or making careless mistakes. Did I get frustrated at times with players? Sure I do but I don't boo them. I would however bench them if I could when they screw up. When coaches don't and they make repeated errors thats it what I get upset about. I may say put someone else in so they can think about it or run the darn play.

I don't disagree with you regarding being able to be boo'd. That's part of the gig. However, at home? He was singled out....a lot. Obviously, I have absolutely no clue how anyone's mind works, inner family dealings, his feelings, etc. That's been in the back of my mind throughout this process. Glad that he's being showed love...now.

Moment these athletes started taking NIL$ they lost the right to complain about booing and criticism from fans. Nobody boo'd Ayo or Kofi because they rarely stunk up the court. Its not all their fault, but last season there were more than a few games where our team played zero defense, launched 3's 5 seconds into the shot clock, showed poor hustle and effort. Nobody called out the players who were not playing defense, hustling or running the plays the coach was calling. I kept waiting for Brad to pull a Bobby Knight and bench all the starters for the 2nd half.
