. . . . the one thing everyone has in common. Everyone, even the most successful people in the world have failed at one thing or another. Every Single One.

According to Christian lore, the last perfect person was hung on a cross. Which is pretty much what many are trying to do to Underwood here on Loyalty. You sir, are deserving of my highest compliment.

Gawd what a train wreck! How does this even happen?!?!?!
Keep in mind, the team never announced him as a commitment. That info came from Williams’ camp, then disseminated here and on social media. At no point was Williams-to-Illinois official, and his “commitment” was probably based on several issues being resolved.

That’s a pretty aggressive reply. The question/challenge was to name one thing BU has done wrong with respect to getting a point guard. Fact is, we don’t know the ins and outs of each situation… what we know is that he failed to get a point guard. That’s the thing.

To extrapolate from that the expectation that BU be a perfect human being…. seems a bit much.

I don’t think the board is out to crucify or expect perfection. But I think it’s fair to expect a $7M coach to show SOME progress on what was arguably his #1 offseason goal.

yeah. Should have never accepted a commitment from in. That is 3 "strikes" Waiver.Injury.Gambling allegations

This is what is being alleged. This information has been around for quite some time, and some have pieced together names based off of court records, etc. This makes the initial commitment frustrating, especially since the staff had to know of the allegations.

Some people on this board deserve a Walmart spanking. Landing Kerr would be like giving a crying 4 year old a smartphone.

not this Kerr

is your spelling correct ?

I know Kriisa doesn't have the most likable personality but based on what both his coach has said and what an Arizona insider has said, he was a good teammate and had no locker room issues. Now if Brad were to identify otherwise, that does change things and that would be an understandable pass. But thus far there has been no credible information out of Arizona he's a headache or a clubhouse cancer. So just food for thought there.

What a disaster. I'm already about done with next season at this point. I can already tell you the story arc:

Illini have hot start with length and positionless basketball
Illini lose to a couple of inferior opponents on cold shooting nights
5-7 game bounce back
Oh crap, they figured out we don't have a point guard and over leverage on every single PnR and ball screen
We rebuild our offense on the fly again for the 7th time in 7 years
Bubble watch
First round bounce
Underwood takes his dream job at $NewSchool
Morez Johnson never puts on an Illinois uniform

/s (kinda)
Thanks, I hate it!

So if the Illini do not land Kerr, what is everyone's thoughts on Joe Toussant? Would you be satisfied with him as our point guard?
I realize at Iowa he wasnt anything special, but he did have a pretty good year at West Virginia, and other than assists, his numbers are close to Kerr and Mulcahey,
He shoots almost 80 percent from the charity stripe. That can come in handy at the end of the game when protecting a lead. Plus, we wouldnt need to find out
if he is eligible or healthy. I would think he would be serviceable and a defense minded and experienced point guard that is familiar with the Big Ten.
Toussaint is actually a very good player. Watched him tons of games at Iowa. Plays really hard. Quicker than fck. Plays too fast sometimes.
Would help for sure. I could see him playing 18-20 mpg at PG.

I would only want Toussaint if Harmon doesn't make it to campus and he plays the role they envisioned for harmon. I'd rather just roll with Ty at the point.

So we'll put you in the camp of not complaining about guys who aren't willing to fight for minutes?
Not at all what I said, nor what I believe. If he works hard, but get mins cut due to promises made to transfers, then sure come on over. If hes lazy, then the coaches can filter that out.

I arrived home this evening to find a somewhat thick envelope from the IRS in the mailbox. Having established long ago the habit of attending first to the most unpleasant task confronting me in my queue of Things to Do at any given time, I logged back onto Loyalty to catch up on the day's recruiting thread before opening the letter.
