Well, looks like LVille is a praying man and you're not.

I’ve been praying for a PG since March …

What a disaster. I'm already about done with next season at this point. I can already tell you the story arc:

Illini have hot start with length and positionless basketball
Illini lose to a couple of inferior opponents on cold shooting nights
5-7 game bounce back
Oh crap, they figured out we don't have a point guard and over leverage on every single PnR and ball screen
We rebuild our offense on the fly again for the 7th time in 7 years
Bubble watch
First round bounce
Underwood takes his dream job at $NewSchool
Morez Johnson never puts on an Illinois uniform

/s (kinda)

Think everything stated is a possibility besides the part that I bolded …

Also possibilities:

1)We Have a phenomenal season, including a nice tournament run.

2)BU goes, his assistants go with him, we'd be in flux, and every player on the roster would be open season once they reopen their recruitment, which is status quo when it comes to coaching changes. One of those players would be Morez.

The narrative where every outcome would be bad, outside of the one that we don't want to be bad is ludicrous.

In April, we were locked up with an elite PG. In June, we don't have one. Nothing is ever off the table when it comes to college athletics nowadays.

Has there been any change with the Reeves situation or still just waiting for him to finish classes at ISU, and if he enters the portal as a grad transfer, there’s mutual interest on both sides?

Can we offer the most NIL if it comes down to dollar bucks.
Well, if we can't, then the blame shifts from BU to our boosters, right? People are ready to throw BU under the bus, but hey, if we want to be big time players with regards to the portal...ante up. I mean, that seems to be where we're at right now. NIL is out of hand and it's sad.

So if the Illini do not land Kerr, what is everyone's thoughts on Joe Toussant? Would you be satisfied with him as our point guard?
I realize at Iowa he wasnt anything special, but he did have a pretty good year at West Virginia, and other than assists, his numbers are close to Kerr and Mulcahey,
He shoots almost 80 percent from the charity stripe. That can come in handy at the end of the game when protecting a lead. Plus, we wouldnt need to find out
if he is eligible or healthy. I would think he would be serviceable and a defense minded and experienced point guard that is familiar with the Big Ten.

As I prepare to head out for the evening, I consider this to be a VERY GOOD day for Illinois basketball. I have never felt comfortable with the Williams commitment. Way too many unknowns.

I feel like we're now in a much better position with the team make-up, as well as with the open roster spot(s) .

Get it done Brad. ILL !!!

Nah....Michigan just had 2 players go in the top 15 of the draft....how'd that worked out for them? BU is a much better coach than JH
NBA players are getting drafted based on tools and projections on how their game will translate to the NBA level not how good they are in college. Plenty of guys get drafted early that were never great college players.

On the other hand you have Drew Timme who is probably the best college player in recent memory and went undrafted. You also saw Tshiebwe, Council, Sanogo, and Tubelis all go undrafted.

The best team in Illini history that nearly went undefeated and won the Nation championship only had one good NBA player in Deron.

Kerr can demand just about any $$ he wants. If he wants 1m he’ll get it and if it’s from us then I’m sure they’ll have to give TSJ and Coleman the same amount. Not sure we have that much for not a guaranteed top 5-10 team

Kerr allegedly got 500k from WVU originally. Maybe he beats that now because he's the last guy left and can create a bidding war.

I'd think we can outbid both Nebraska and Memphis and are a more attractive roster than both but who knows. Memphis does have some big money donors.
