How about we all hope that the additions fix the bad coaching issues we had last year. That will save some people the trouble of pretending they didn't exist.
We didn't have coaching issues last year. The issue was lack of a PG. You can certainly blame that on the coach as talent acquisition is a (huge) part of their job. But the Xs and Os and in-game coaching was generally fine.

I would disagree to some extent. Either poor coaching or nobody following game plan (with no consequences). For 23-24 do we lack a PG? Just because Rodgers is playing PG - doesn't mean he is a PG (which is the same as last year).

Well, I don't believe Xs and Os are the extent of coaching.

I'll always chime in on these posts to say our shooting was a much bigger problem than the point guard situation. The biggest difference between us and say FAU and SDSU was shooting, well that and defensive tenacity. So how poor our PGs were at defense was maybe more important than the offensive side.

your response takes the focus away from poor coaching (to some degree) and poor PG play on offense. the 22-23 version was a poor shooting team. Was that because they were/are poor shooters or poor offensive execution?

The saving grace for a potentially clunky, unorganized offense this season will be A) Ty handles the role better than people are expecting, B) we are an above average shooting team, or C) Shannon goes All-American mode and puts the team on his back when/if the offense doesn't gel.

Also we will have a fair number of good secondary playmakers. TJ and Coleman were our top 2 assist guys last year, getting almost 6 a game collectively. Domask got almost 4. Harmon almost 3. We should be a better passing team next year.
