Yep … Been having to keep this one a little on the quiet side … But we’ve got extreme level interest …

He plays AAU for Riverside Hawks … Which for those who don’t know is run by Kofi’s handler … We are extremely tied in there obviously …

That top 8 is more of a top 4 … Seton Hall, St John’s, Illinois, Creighton … And from what I’ve gathered this could come down to Slick Rick vs. Daddy Brad …

He’s a top 50 guy … Some of those top 50 kids need to drop way down …
Good info — thanks! What does “handler” mean in this sense? Just curious, hadn’t heard the term before

Four-Star SF Jaiden Glover names top 8 schools

Glover, a Brooklyn native, has yet to take an official visit, but has scheduled two. He will trip to Seton Hall on August 29th, followed up by St. John’s on September 7th. He’s also aiming to visit Illinois and Creighton in the month of September.

According to the On3 Industry Rankings, Jaiden Glover is the No. 57 overall prospect in the 2024 cycle. He’s also the No. 20 small forward prospect and the No. 3 player in the state of New Jersey. The On3 Industry Ranking is a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. On3’s evaluators are higher on Glover, ranking him 38th overall in the class.

Kind of a tough thing to answer … Lot of different types of handlers … So I’ll try my best to answer …

A lot of kids have “handlers” and essentially it’s someone that handles the recruiting side of things for the kid … It also typically is the person who’s looking to cash in themselves along with the kid …

The handler kind of controls what the kid does and leverage colleges getting the kid on if they get paid or sometimes if they get a job themselves … I’ll provide some examples of this and those who care can do their research: Tre Mitchell, Charles Bassey, Caleb Swanigan, Enoch Boakye, Mitchell Robinson …

Sometimes handlers can also be boys with assistant coaches … For example … Kofi‘s handler and OA … Curbelos handler and OA … Chin was boys with the Irvin’s so therefore Ayo and Ace …

There’s a lot of different versions of a “handler” but it’s sometimes 1 more hoop to jump through to get kids … And with NIL it’s only getting worse …

far better X/Miller than Iowa. 6' 9" w/handles, shot and versatility, kid is a player.

If Sean wants a kid as bad as he wants Niko … He usually does not miss … Especially him being an in state kid …

Sean is after Jackson McAndrew as well who’s a similar player in the 24 class and they were lead after visit … That race has gotten a little tighter though per other coaches in the recruitment and Sean … But Sean is pushing the gas …

Brad really liked this kid but we got in WAY late … Which is absolutely inexcusable if you ask me … But that’s just my 2 cents … Funny enough we offered him right after his Xavier visit when I told Brad he might wanna check this kid out … 😂

Latest I knew was staff was trying to coordinate getting Mikey Lewis, Jaiden Glover and Rez all here for OVs for that 9/16 game with Penn State …

Staff would just be fine landing Glover & Lewis to go with Rez and calling it done for HS guys unless an elite guy that’s a good fit wants to come … Rest of scholarships will be used for portal …
Those three would be a terrific prep class. Sprinkle in a couple of older guys from the portal to shore up any weak spots and let's go

Why do kids allow handlers to call the shots and take a cut?

Think leaving more scholarships open for portal is the new norm, potentially pushing some HS kids on the cusp to wait to commit until after early portal season and less early signees?

Is it my imagination, or am I seeing a lot of kids with Xavier and illinois interests. Perhaps Sean Miller is saying, "hey, I'm most likely gonna be at Illinois sooner than later, so go visit the campus and you can transfer when needed."
or it could be that Champaign and Cincinnati are less than 250 miles apart and based on location alone tend to be involved with a similar set of players. Not to mention everyone wants the best players.
