1. Toledo is a good team.
2. Altmeyer has fantastic pocket presence. Looking forward to watching him continue to make great throws despite oncoming defensive pressure.
3. Secondary was good for how much turnover we had.
4. Toledo’s defensive line wrecked more havoc than our highly acclaimed line did. Not good.
5. We lost time of possession, yards, first downs (Bert Ball) and still won.

Schedule doesn’t get easier.

Very disappointing showing by both lines. And we looked extremely unprepared and undisciplined. Does not bode well, but a loss would have been crushing. Hopefully this is a wake up for the players that have to be better (lines). Luke Altmyer certainly looks like a good one, and our receivers looked good I thought. Would like to see more out of our RBs but they didn't exactly have a lot of help most of the game. How did Altmyer complete that 4th down throw?

They got this "effort" out of their system. Now get your acts together coaches and players!

Play with discipline, prepare better and be aggressive in the play calling. In other words, totally opposite from tonight.

Did we adjust our D scheme significantly? I remember us not being as passive last year. Felt like we were doing a lot of engaging blocks and just peeking around to see the play. Never felt like we were disruptive in any way.

The O put some good things together, Altmyer appears to be the real deal. Take the W and keep improving!

Luke Altmyer got clobbered as soon as he let go with that 4th down pass to Casey Washington and lo and behold mr. washington caught it as he was being manhandled by the mud hen defender..........What a way to start a season and if this win doesn't excite you then you need to find another team to root for.......

1st half was a flagfest as martin O'donnell stated the the refs will need to soak their arms in cold water at halftime....I lol'ed at that....
second half we only had 1 penalty but it almost was a game breaker on Jacas..............

We have a good one in Altmyer as he showed great quickness running the ball and other that the interception he threw into triple coverage in the first half , he had a pretty good game overall......

The key to the Illini comeback had to be the pick 6 by M. Scott.......That shot energy into the whole Illini squad ........

We have a lot to work on before the Friday night game against KU.............JMHO

Toledo is a good team. Play with way fewer mistakes and we beat them soundly. I think we will going forward. Also, our lines will be much better once they gel. Gotta figure how to play together with the new parts. Once things click this will be a solid team again. Also, Luke should only get better. Can't wait to see it all come together.
