Last night we went to a Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins hockey game (they’re our hometown team for AHL, so sue me) against the archrival Hershey Bears and the clock is ticking down towards having to go to OT with the score tied 1-1. Crowd is counting down the seconds. And the puck goes in…with 0.8 seconds on the clock.

And this today.

We ARE watching our Fighting Illini volleyball team tonight go up against #2 Wisconsin.

I'm amazed we won that game. I have a lot of questions but will ask them tomorrow. One of the greatest turnarounds I have seen from this program in 40 years.

Um. I’m sorry. Did we actually just win that game in Minneapolis? I’m gobsmacked.

Reminded me of the thrilling 1988 come from behind, last-minute win 21-20 v #20 Indiana in 1988.

Coincidentally, 35 ago tomorrow. That game was when I realized Mackovic had the kernel of something special on the field.

I'll be real. I watched every second of that game and I still don’t believe what happened. We went full Nebraska. Like full on Nebraska. And our backup QB comes in on 4th and long deep in our own territory with less than a minute to go and somehow that happens. We lose that game 100 times out of 100. Just too incredible to put into words. We basically watched the offensive version of Rudy. Hard to believe it.

Tuned in late. VERY entertaining game and a total roller coaster. Scored so fast on that last drive through it might still go the other way. Loved the ending tho.

I don't believe this. I come in from working in the yard. I was going to watch the rest of the 4th quarter.Williams fumble. I flip to another channel. I come back a few minutes later- interception. I simply can't watch their games. They don't do anything when I do.

This is me this season. Seems like we do best when I just follow the score on the ESPN app, so that's what I'll be doing from now on
