What I am posting below may have been brought up on one of the many posts or maybe portions of other posts. That being said I'm having trouble wrapping my head around the whole let's go to Kansas for a football game, out to a bar and then whatever unfolds. Why go to Kansas for a football game? I know basketball players will attend home games from time to time but I'm betting it's not every home game. He really drove there for a game? As far as I know, he has no family there. I've heard a rumor that at one point while there he was with Hunter (probably BS). But again, why go all the way to Kansas? Was it really that big a game? Then while you're there you head out to a bar? Ok, I get that no big deal but you got to know maybe not everyone in the bar would know him but even a casual Kansas Basketball fan would see a 6'7" guy who isn't on the Kansas team and ask, who is he? A recruit? Wait, that's no recruit, that's Terrance Shannon from Illinois. So we got all this going on now let's add in, he's 23. Yes that's young but he's been in college what 5 years now? Before that he was a star high school player. He ain't a babe in the woods. Plus, I thought I saw that when a player tests the NBA waters they go through interviews and even "classes" on what it's like to be an NBA player and the scrutiny you are under not to mention all the attention. He wasn't a lock as a first rounder even with how he's playing. He knew he had to be on his best behavior, whether here, Kansas or anywhere else.
He had so much at stake. More than just college and his pursuit of achievements both individual and team wise but his future, which every kid does, but a future with huge monetary opportunities involved not to mention fulfilling a dream.
It is also my understanding he is a good student and has been striving for his degree while practicing for long hours and playing games.
So, with all of this at stake, with the what we know above, why did he go to Kansas?
To me there had to be something that brought him there. A prior or long distance relationship (whether for weeks, days or hours) which could have been just through texting or whatever social media app they choose.
I can't help but think there is some background here with either directly with the victim (yes at this point she is considered a victim) or with a friend who helped connect the dots.
Heck, when I was in school we had some buddies who called and said they were having a party and there were going to be some girls and we ought to come over. We piled into a car and were out the door in minutes.....TO EASTERN ILLINOIS!!!
Why did he go to Kansas?
