Yeah, doesn't look good for Dain.Truly a mystery why Dain is getting so few minutes. /s
Yeah there’s zero chance his agent is not acting in accordance with BU’s wishes. (There just isn’t)….and I have mixed feelings about it to be honest.I still think there's a difference between BU and his agent listening to offers because he's a coveted commodity and BU and his agent actively approaching a school in the middle of the season to let them know they'd be interested in interviewing for the job (that isn't even open yet).
In my experience, if you're good at your job, you don't need to go on the offensive to find out what you're worth. People will come to you. So, I don't buy that excuse. He's either trying to get leverage for a raise/extension (which is a tired act, IMO) or he really doesn't think of CU as his forever home. (This is all assuming that his agent is acting in accordance with BU's wishes).
That said, I'm not worried about Louisville and as long as we keep making it easy for Brad to win here, I can't see him leaving for anything but a blue blood. And if he's on the short list for any future blue blood openings, that means he's done something really big here.

You'd be surprised what agents do to try and get a raise whether their client knows it or not.Yeah there’s zero chance his agent is not acting in accordance with BU’s wishes. (There just isn’t)….and I have mixed feelings about it to be honest.
I want him to stay here and be here many, many years to come…but not if he doesn’t wanna be here.
I’ll take your word for it. You’d certainly know. You'd be surprised what agents do to try and get a raise whether their client knows it or not.
I’m not saying Brad isn’t aware but it’s not always as simple as the agent is operating under direct orders either if that makes sense.I’ll take your word for it. You’d certainly know.
Yes it's a really great arena, not a bad seat (not nearly as cavernous as UC) and Minny is a great city if you haven't been. Weather may not be the best still in Mid March but lots of great restaurants, etc.Anybody been to the Target Center area/Minneapolis. Just wondering if worth the trip to hand out there for 2-3 days
It's simply the nature of an agent's job. How do you know what your client's market is, if you don't inquire? How could you determine what a good deal is for Brad, if you don't know what someone else is willing to pay him? It feels gross, but it's just business. The guys whose job it is to figure these things out, know the deal and in most cases, don't make it personal.I have no doubt JW will do/is doing everything in his power to keep Brad happy. Anywhere trying to poach him will require some pretty unheard of concessions on that schools part or just be a dream that we didn’t have a chance against regardless. I really don’t see why someone would leave an elite school right when their rebuild has started to pay off so until given reason to believe otherwise this is likely the constant doubts that comes with being an Illini fan.
I imagine his abysmal 32% free-throw shooting has something to do with it.Truly a mystery why Dain is getting so few minutes. /s
Agreed. Great arena and if the weather is lousy, the entire downtown area is connected through indoor corridors and bridges.Yes it's a really great arena, not a bad seat (not nearly as cavernous as UC) and Minny is a great city if you haven't been. Weather may not be the best still in Mid March but lots of great restaurants, etc.
TBF, I think a lot of fans (myself included) are not necessarily frustrated Underwood is not playing Dain more as things currently stand ... we are confused and frustrated why Dain cannot be more consistent to provide us HUGELY necessary depth, as he really does show such great flashes and if he could clean up the mistakes ... well, he might be the difference between surviving a Second Round scare to make the Sweet Sixteen and running out of gas and/or losing due to foul trouble in the Second Round yet again.Truly a mystery why Dain is getting so few minutes. /s
I'd be curious to see how the various luck parameters or whatever could have altered any of our losses to-date:Something to think about today.
We are definitely much better than our record. If our luck evens out, we can get to 24-7 at the end of the yearI'd be curious to see how the various luck parameters or whatever could have altered any of our losses to-date:
L 71-64 vs. #4 Marquette
L 86-79 at #17 Tennessee
L 83-78 at #1 Purdue (no TSJ)
L 76-67 vs. Maryland (no TSJ)
L 96-91 in OT at Northwestern
If layups going in and out count, then some BASIC finishing carries us home vs. both Maryland and Northwestern, we are 16-3 (7-1) and our only losses are three exceptionally tough Quad 1 games (two of which were away from home).
I mean jeez, for all of the disastrous things we saw yesterday, if Marcus makes that last jumper we are not even fretting. We are definitely much better than our record. If our luck evens out, we can get to 24-7 at the end of the year
The two that felt the most unlucky were the last two losses.I'd be curious to see how the various luck parameters or whatever could have altered any of our losses to-date:

Was waiting for the optimism fairy to come by and fill up my glass after last night's game and thought to myself how grateful I am to be witnessing this stretch of basketball from Coleman. We are 40% through the conf slate...had some time over lunch break today and took a look at where some of our guys stack up in conf only stats leaders..
Assume TSJ hasnt played enough games to qualify
Scoring:
DOmask 4th in conf
Coleman 21st in conf
Rebounds:
Guerrier 5th
Coleman 7th
FG%: I thnk this one must have a high bar for FGAs bc overall %s look low
Domask 8th
FT%
Domask 6
Coleman 8th
3pFG per game
Goode 12
Hawkins 20th
Assists
Domask 11th
COleman 20
Blocks
Coleman 8th
Domask 20
Ty 21
Steals
Coleman 3rd
Feels like domaks and hawkins should be in contention for all BIG teams, probably not first for either but strong statistical representation for those 2.
Hawkins might really be DPOY with his guarding 1-5 and having counting stats in both blokcs and steals that stick out.
Sheesh, if only one of those bunnies that rolled around the rim had gone in (or for that matter, one of those three pointers by NU that hit the rim, bounced up and hit the backboard, came back to the rim and bounced up and came down nothing but net), we'd have a W instead of an L. That said, Brad has taken responsibility for calling the defense for the second half, so...well, it still could have been.I mean jeez, for all of the disastrous things we saw yesterday, if Marcus makes that last jumper we are not even fretting.
