I think this is a job for OrangeNBrood_Redux.Can you make another one with the "five fingers into a fist" look?
Orange is the real deal…a stud graphic designer person. I’m just a hack.

Nope, just one wide open Luther Head missed 3 with 17 seconds left that would have tied the game. I was there and it looked good when it left his hands.More like six potentially made 3s in the last couple minutes.
@DB11Headband @LvilleILL y'all would be invited too
I am in. Where do I sign up??Can confirm ...

Then everyone would know who you are!@DB11Headband @LvilleILL y'all would be invited too
I mean, sure, that one would have worked but it wasn't "just" that one open shot. Head tied it with a three at 2:38, and the partisan Illini crowd went wild ... still an awesome memory for me, even though we lost.Nope, just one wide open Luther Head missed 3 with 17 seconds left that would have tied the game. is it bad that I do not really ever want our coach to be an alum. theres been so many instances where a school hires what seems to be a perfect candidate on paper who is an alum, and it doesn't turn out well. it makes the firing process uglier than it needs to be,

Had this exact same conversation with @illini0440 yesterday ...
Sad thing is, if we had James it wouldn't have even come to that. Doubt it even would have been that close at the end and it would be pandemonium on Green Street.I mean, sure, that one would have worked but it wasn't "just" that one open shot. 1. Head missed an open three at 2:02 that would have given us a 3-point lead. It bounced out of bounds, UNC ball.
2. After UNC scored to go up 72-70, Head missed a WIDE open three that would have given us a 1-point lead at 1:08. However, Ingram got the rebound. We then called a timeout.
3. Williams missed a wide open three at 55 seconds, but it bounced out of bounds off UNC, and we got the ball back.
4. Head turned it over around 33 seconds, but UNC only made one of two free throws, so we were still down 73-70 with 25 seconds to go. The one you are probably thinking of was with 18 seconds left where Head missed a VERY wide open three that could have tied it at 73. UNC got the ball, made both free throws, and it was over.
We had a TON of opportunities.
When you're doing it right, the guy being an alum is the factor allowing the school to hire a coach they couldn't otherwise get, as opposed to a coach being able to secure a job he wouldn't otherwise get.is it bad that I do not really ever want our coach to be an alum. theres been so many instances where a school hires what seems to be a perfect candidate on paper who is an alum, and it doesn't turn out well. it makes the firing process uglier than it needs to be,
Yes.What was y’alls conclusion? Is he here until he retires in your opinion?
The way it always should have been.
Yep IIRC, Augustine picked up his fourth foul barely after halftime and Ingram had four for most of crunch time.Sad thing is, if we had James it wouldn't have even come to that. Doubt it even would have been that close at the end and it would be pandemonium on Green Street.

I'm starting to think people have our DM thread tapped lmao
Thank goodness. I don’t want him to leaveHad this exact same conversation with @illini0440 yesterday ...
Isn't that weird to think we were about one made 3 pointer away from having a Bruce Weber statue built?
Yeah, okay. But for sake of argument, I almost think there might be a third category of sorts…When you're doing it right, the guy being an alum is the factor allowing the school to hire a coach they couldn't otherwise get, as opposed to a coach being able to secure a job he wouldn't otherwise get.
I mean those are both absolutely the platonic ideal of what I'm talking about when I say a coach who would not be under consideration whatsoever if they weren't a famous alum of the school.Which category would you have put these two Dream Teamers in at the time of their hire?
God. I’ve erased so much of that game from my memory. I just remember feeling like had we ever taken the lead UNC would have folded. Alas, foul on Augustine.I mean, sure, that one would have worked but it wasn't "just" that one open shot.
