This may be an unpopular opinion, but once Domask started getting huge minutes, almost 40 a game, this team's defense has totally collapsed. And for the love of all things holy, please do not allow him to bring the ball up the court ever again.

Again, down the stretch no TR or QG... You trust then enough to start the game and half, but not end the game?
We literally have no one else who can bring the ball up better than Domask. We have to do a better job of giving him outlets when he is under heavy pressure.

Brads a good coach. He’s a high floor but it appears his ceiling may be limited.

He’s also one of the most stubborn coaches I’ve ever seen with his lack of adjustments.
I agree he’s a good coach, but he’s peaked. He’s been here 7 years but he’s still blaming losses on effort and focus when every year there’s been frustrating and glaring short comings in preparation and in game adjustments.

I’m tired of hearing about everyday guys. If he doesn’t have the team makeup he wants after 7 years that’s on him not the individual players. The best coaches have a positive and motivating influence on effort and focus I feel he neglects listening to his post games.

No point guard? Did you know last years Mr Basketball in Illinois high school was a point guard, won a state championship in 4A , was the tourney mvp , and has a brother who plays baseball at Illinois. I don’t believe we recruited him at all. McCaffery got him at Iowa.

Seriously, I’m over Brad. He makes the dumbest coaching moves I’ve ever seen, and he’s too stubborn to change them. When is everyone going to see that. He has the most talented B1G team and can’t coach them.

He plays Goode way too much and keeps him in during crunch time. Goode is an huge liability. Also, he keeps having Domask bring the ball up. He almost turns it over every time. And the football out of bounds play doesn’t work Brad!

Awful coaching.
Brad's MAIN issue for this season didn't actually occur during the season. It was back in April, May and June when he didn't land a dependable PG.

Issues like Domask bringing up the ball, whether to play Ty or Luke late in games, Hawkins turning the ball over and missing free throws, Harmon not being able to get the ball in bounds.....

NONE of these are problems if they had a dependable PG. None of them. They win @ Northwestern, @Michigan State and @Penn State of that position was buttoned up. This team should be 22-4 this year. They've choked games away late and they can't defend a quick guard from any other team.

That's a personnel issue. That PG position is the most important position in the college game. A good one manages the game, handles the ball, makes good decisions late and makes free throws.

It's a lack of execution because they don't have the piece that's required.

The ref helped freeze him. the delays with giving the ball were uncalled for.
Should not be Coleman’s concern at that point. Piss poor excuse for being a veteran player with the chance to seal the game and missing both.

It’s like how every time Coleman thinks he gets fouled he stays on that end of the court to complain and doesn’t bother getting back for defense. He’d rather complain at the refs than play the damn game.

U of I sure pays a lot of money to Brad when he constantly goes through massive learning lessons. I think my main frustration is the constant change in scheme year to year.
First Brad wants to be like Michigan State, then it was Baylor, then he wants to be like Houston, this year he wants to be like Penn state from last year. He literally just keeps taking things from other coaches along the years. That doesn’t sound like a top 10 paid coach to me. I’m thankful for Brad but find a scheme and recruit to that and master it.

Brad has become way too analytically driven imo. You have Coleman one of the most versatile bigs in the nation. Why are we still playing drop coverage like Kofi is still in the paint?? We let teams get way to comfortable attacking us. I’d rather fly around and give up a 3 then get diced up like we have been.

This team and coach just wear me out. I hope and pray for positive change and instead it’s more of the same or in this case worse. I’m really having a problem not getting players locked in for what is ahead. This team is talented enough to never need to be bailed out by a foul call. Coleman really is too immature to handle success. He has definitely improved this year but his immaturity is still there. If you noticed, a couple of games ago, Goode started the complaining about calls much the same way. Unfortunately his attitude and demeanor can do more harm than good. Yes Coleman….you are highly talented. Yes Coleman….you hurt your team because of your attitude. There is plenty of blame to go around. I agree with so much everyone is saying. We all see the issues and when I read the comments at least you all make me feel better that it’s not just me. This team is frustrating but it seems it’s a common theme with Brad’s teams. I want Brad to improve as a coach and I think our teams will improve. Unfortunately he seems to be the constant that also doesn’t seem to get better. He is the head coach, it’s on him to figure this out.

What a shameful awful loss. Just a disgraceful piece of coaching by Undereood. If I have to watch Domask dribble into double coverage one more time I’ll crap myself.

Team is so soft. Just an embarrassment. They couldnt guard a high school team.
Who else has the ability to handle the ball and make free throws?

They've been doing the guard by committee since October. Get ready to keep soiling yourself because that's what we have.

Should have been fired before he got back to the locker room after this debacle
Hell, there's a former coach in the B10 studio right now in Chicago who definitely knows how to coach defensive x's and o's and has experience in the NCAA tourney. Fire Hamer, offer Weber $1M to close out our season as an assistant coach focusing on defense, and make a NCAA Championship run. I'm joking. Sorta. Not really. If he leaves now, he could probably beat the team back to Champaign in time to run drills tonight...

All due respect Indy, that’s a cop out. Brad is paid 4mil + per year. If the defense sucks (which it does), it’s NOT Hamer’s fault… it’s Brad’s… the buck stops w the guy making all the $$.

Posted my thoughts on that here ...
