I remember 2015. 50-10 overall , 27-game win streak, I think. Man! Those were the days not so long ago.

Tennessee 24
Illinois 1

We've been playing baseball since 1879 and never given up that many runs.

And then pitching coach Drew Dickinson left his alma mater for the same position at Virginia. And he's done wonders in Charlottesville. Should be an easy decision for Josh to make this summer.
This has got to get right. I look back on the sunny days of attending Illini baseball games and expecting either a win or a hard fought battle.

Time to move on and give a solid pitch to Dickinson.

Illinois baseball took their show on the road to Terre Haute, IN yesterday to visit the Indiana State Sycamores. The Fighting Illini took a 6-1 lead into the 7th inning stretch ... only to have the bullpen give up 6 runs in the bottom of the 7th. Final score Indiana State 7 Illinois 6. It is going to be a L-O-N-G season .... especially when we hit the Big Ten schedule.

After mulling it over for a few days, I'd say there is a pitching problem at Illinois. Got to go back to my blackboard and equations to be sure. I made a mistake ONCE: E=mc ... cubed. Now I triplecheck.

Some other names I’d seriously consider would be Derek Simmons from Indiana, Jordan Brischel HC at Central Michigan, Eric Snider of course.

Illinois had a 3-game weekend series with the University of Southern Indiana, and end up taking 2 of the 3 to improve their record to 7-11 on the season

Friday - Illinois 2 USI 1 (season record 6-10)
Saturday - Illinois 6 USI 5 (season record 7-10)
Sunday - USI 8 Illinois 3 (season record 7-11)

Illinois will be back in action on Tuesday night at home vs Bradley at 6:00pm. The Braves will roll into Champaign with a 6-12 record, after taking 2 of 3 from Butler in a weekend series.
