I say get rid of the "confidence" feature. Make your prediction and own it.
Years ago I would be asked by my VP of sales what I thought the odds were on closing certain business. I always said 50-50. He just accepted it. But, my direct manager, who knew my sense of humor, would just shake his head and smirk.

I would not say that we are out on Maddox ... The race is just much closer than it was even a couple days ago ... Sean is feeling confident ... But we're going to get a chance to lock it down before he does ... I do think that Maddox wants to be here but is the role going to be better here than what he is going to get at Xavier ? Because he'll start there and easily get 30+ minutes a game ... NIL is essentially the same ... So I think it really is going to be a tough decision for the young man ...

If we do lose out on Maddox ... Couple names to watch: Ryan Conwell, Jordan Pope, Duke Miles and Selton Miguel ...
Conwell would be a nice back-up plan to Maddox.

I've kind of said all along ... I think they add Booth ...

I have heard we are out on Garrison and Reed ... And we aren't really attached to any other true 5s at the moment ...

Now that might change but for now ... That's where we sit ...
Ok but yesterday someone ( 0440 I think) said if Booth comes he would be playing the 4 So who would you says starts at the 5?

They were really young and also lost 2 starters in August ... One of which would probably have been All Big East 1st team ...

And the other one being a 5th year senior ...

Xavier will be a top 2-3 team in the Big East next year ...

Both of those guys are back and healthy ... Claude is going into his 2nd season in a lead role ... McKnight is going into his 2nd season in the Big East ...

Trey Green is an absolute bucket ... Dailyn Swain has potential ... And they bring in Jonathan Powell (Ohio POY) who is a kid we wanted here ...
what makes miller an effective recruiter? How is he different than Underwood in his recruiting and coaching style? Curiosity killed the cat...

Travis Branham with the crystal ball for Oumar Ballo to Indiana…

Man, if the crystal balls all come true they’re probably looking at a starting 5 of Kanaan Carlyle-Myles Rice-Mgbako-Reneau-Ballo, with Galloway off the bench.

No chance Galloway comes off the bench.

Yup ... I was told IU was one to watch (shoutout @soupy17 for adding that note) and if they could match the UNC offer that's where he would wind up ...

I got a text from IU staffer maybe 20 minutes ago that said what I needed to hear ...

Looks like Ballo to IU ... Carlyle ... And Rice as well ...

They're going to have the talent ... They need shooting ... Which has always been the story with Woodson teams ...

I'm not really asking for post scoring to clog up the lane. I'm just looking for a defensive big that can play a reserve role and match up with opposing bigs. We didn't just struggle against Edey we struggled against almost every decent big such as:

Osa Ighodoro - 14 pts 5 rebs (5/9 FG)
Jonas Aidoo - 14 pts 7 rebs (6/12 FG)
Julien Reese - 20 pts 11 rebs (8/16 FG)
Tarris Reed Jr - 21 pts 5 rebs (6/11 FG)
Clif OMORUYI - 22 pts 9 rebs (10/19 FG)
Mathew Nickelson - 12 pts 8 rebs (6/7 FG)
Malik Reneau - 21 pts 7 rebs (8/12 FG)
Reink Mast - 22 pts 6 rebs (8/21 FG)
Qudus Wahab - 13 pts 5 rebs (6/10 FG)
Julien Reese - 18 pts 11 rebs (6/8 FG)

They will add 2 bigs (power forward and center)
Any names to watch as far as centers, assuming Booth ends up being the 4? Is it Jared Coleman-Jones?

Raynaud’s back to Stanford, I haven’t heard much buzz for us with Danny Wolf or Brandon Garrison. Avila’s probably going to SLU. Corhen’s a 4, Ballo’s heading to IU, been radio silence on Kalkbrenner.

I'm tempted to wonder whether by splitting our forces with Maddox and Storr we're risking losing both, and whether the prudent move might not be locking down Maddox and reworking from there.

Storr feels like a point of pride, it's a headline grabbing, alpha dog establishing coup. But how ACTUALLY valuable of a basketball deal is it, relative to Ryan Conwell for way less money?
Yep, Storr is LeBron-ing us. We're waiting for his decision and when he doesn't pick us, everyone else we wanted will be gone.

Are we anticipating someone on current roster leaving then?

I think we have shown playing 5-out without a "true" 5 works for the offense Brad likes. Will we struggle to stop an Edey? Sure...but so does almost everyone. A good post player may get his, but make him chase on the perimeter and 3>2. I think the obsession with getting a big post guy is just a reaction to losing a couple games to some all-time centers.
So I agree playing 5-out is the way. It's modern ball and a huge reason why we were so succesful on offense this year. But to be fair we got punked by a lot of bigs aside from Edey & Clingan... Julian Reece, Oso Ighodaro, Vlad Goldin, Tarris Reed, Malik Reneau, Qudus Wahab, Pharrel Payne, Tyler Wahl all won in the paint against us. I get those guys are good, but it became crystal clear we struggled against pretty much any big who had an offensive game. I really think the staff believed Coleman could hold his own against those guys but oh well. Having a true big who can defend the interior is valuable
