I’ve seen enough of Turner Ward. Leave him in Oakland.

such a boring offense right now........................can't stand Edmonds non stop gabbing.......JMHO.....
There just seems to be no plan at the plate. I know easier said than done, but Peralta was working backwards all night, no adjustment?
I do like Jimmy, he blabs, but knows ball. I can sense some frustration from him with our defensive placement and obviously the offense.

I've never disputed that Edmonds knows the game , as he was one of my fav's when he played for the Cardinals.....and he does bring up knowledgeable stuff , but just tone it down some..........

it's hard watching Goldie now after all he's done for the redbirds since he came over from AZ.......but he is late on the FB and swinging more now on pitches off the plate.....he is a usual slow starter but this stretch from last year to now is concerning.......

hindsight , but really , I would have walked Contreras to set up force play.......
I think you would've been correct. Add Gorman to the list who is as lost as it gets in that box.

Also, Noot has to get wood on the ball in the first AB. Unacceptable.

tough to watch right now.........no discipline at the plate by over half the batters..........Marmol out managed tonight , IMHO.........

again Burleson needs to play every day right now.......at least he is hitting the ball hard and taking mostly good AB's................

Wasting a lot of good pitching that's for sure. Goldy, Gorman and Walker are killing us right now but they need to play to snap out of it. Having said that a day off for them might be a good thing right now. And getting Edman or Carlson back. CF is a black hole right now offensively. Put Noot in CF and play Burly in LF? Maybe that's something that would help.

I realize Marmol is a symptom of a much larger problem regarding how the Cardinals are run, but to be totally fair you can probably remove "tonight" from this and it remains very true.

Jimmy ballgame was terrific CF for Cards, his commentary on Bally,AWFULL.Not a fan generally, seems very full of himself.
If you read the comment's section of the articles I link from STL Today that is the general feelings from 80 % of the fans in and around St. Louis.....................................

I'm one of those 80%

Appreciate his playing days, stories and knowledge of the game. JMO but it doesn't mean he is good at this job.

I agree, he is full of himself and most athletes that reach his level have that arrogance about them. Some are just able to mask it better. In his defense and to your point about him being a terrific CF'er, I truthfully think he can't contain his frustration about what he is seeing with our defensive positioning in the outfield, AB's, and general strategy and approach. Arrogant or not, I appreciate his baseball knowledge. I played and understand most things, but the smaller nuances he unravels during his story hours are great.

In the broadcast booth I'm growing tired of Chip. I really miss Dan. I hope we can all agree though that not having the mad Hungarian up there is a major plus for the broadcast.

One of the ESPN writers suggested Goldy as a potential trade deadline move. He'll be 37 in September and is a pending UFA at the end of the season. If Saggese keeps hitting like he has in the minors, they may have to move Goldy to open a spot for him on the major league roster. If they keep Goldy, then Saggese gets moved since he'd be blocked at 1st and 3rd.
