He won against us. I'm hoping the wheels fall off over there, but us going 5-7 against an easier scheduled compared to their 4-8 doesn't negate the fact that he's been a pain in the butt since he took the job.

The theme here isn't Walters, it's Purdue. Illinois is 6-18 against Purdue since the end of the 1993 season. This is also why it's frustrating when folks on here make season predictions and 90% of them are calling the game a win.

Question for the insiders, Is it Likely for the Illini to get both DT transfers that have visited?

More of a would one want to come if the other already committed

That’s why I can see James being one of the guys they bring in. He has 4 years of eligibility left and most likely wouldn’t play. He would be a project for Jamo to develop. If Short and Meyer both want to commit I wouldn’t mind that.

We were told this was a “huge” recruiting weekend. Is this the only possible commit to come out of it?

Admittedly, I don’t follow IL football more than casually. I suppose I (and many others) just don’t understand why IL isn’t a more successful program by now. Others like Carolina, Kansas, Mizzou have made huge gains recently, with their mediocre programs now being competitive. Why can’t we? Does it come down to more NIL or will it take a new/higher profile coach to attract the talent/staff needed for B1G success?

did you forget about the Texas CB, Brooks? that one is massive

pretty sure our policy is to let the young men announce, patience. expecting Franklin too, at a minimum

Terrence Brooks is our best portal get by far and instant starter. And it seems very likely that Zakhari Franklin is pretty much a lock.

Edit: @joelgoodson beat me to it

No, since I never heard of him. I asked since I honestly didn’t know what was happening on the football side. Thanks for the mini update.
