RIP Bob Love
Smooth and slender Bob Love.
Crafty one-on-one master Chet Walker.
Tough-as-nails Jerry Sloan.
The feverishly driven Norm Van Lier.
The hub of the Offense – Tom Boerwinkle.
These guys were something. The first really good group of Bulls players as a franchise.
They played like a well-run machine on both ends of the floor. Offense was run from the high-post... all five guys defended like maniacs and opponents hated to play the Bulls because they played D like no one else.
They damn near knocked off some highly-talented Laker teams in the playoffs and scared the hell out of them. Had some epic battles with the Bucks when they had Jabbar and Oscar Robertson and Bob Dandridge. Had old Chicago Stadium packed to the rafters and shaking from the foundation. Set the table for the highly-talented Bulls teams that would follow later on.
These Bulls got every ounce of talent out of them as God gave them.
Commitment... passion... energy... hard work. Made Chicago proud. Will never see Defense in the NBA like that again.
