I'd be upset about this, but then I remember Georgetown hasn't been relevant in 15 years and is now in a real battle with DePaul for worst power conference program. So I won't worry about it.

In other words . . .

Hey man.....

DePaul isn't bad and I'm serious. Their schedule has been poor, but unlike DePaul of the last decade plus....they are absolutely rolling. They've already doubled their win total from last year and I think that they'll pick up some in conference W's.

I think that Georgetown is going to have the basement to themselves this year.

I think people tend to give people way too much credit for simple things. This was not some Machiavellian ploy. The guy didn't like that Underwood stole one of his recruits. Jayden surely wasn't thrilled with his time in Champaign, or he wouldn't have left. I'm sure between the 2 of them there is some animosity against Illinois. So he most likely had an incident where he wasn't thinking and ended up going $h!t, shouldn't have said that.

agree with your general point but he didnt likely have an incident, he made this statement on record sitting beside his players in the context of what looks like a pregame media conference (first post of the thread). that's very different than some 2nd hand account of locker room talk and, as such, I think it's reasonable to call it out a b league.

More posts 3-1 at this point for this goofball disrespecting the school versus the post-game thread.

He can’t even stand by his own words. Backpedaling faster than a doped-up Lance Armstrong video on rewind. Last I checked, Illinois went to the Elite Eight once Epps left, while Cooley & Epps went 9-23.

Cooley has been a head coach for a while, but an incendiary comment like this screams AMATEUR. Trying to deflect from his own shortcomings. Georgetown must be excited about having this ignorant fool leading their resurgence.

Wasn't Epps on a list of former Illinois players posting support and/or actually showing up to Illinois games during our elite eight run last year? Am I misremembering that, because this definitely is a different turn

Not sure, but being a friend to and fan of players still on roster and being one with the coaching staff are two different things.

This is beneath even Ed Cooley, the Benedict Arnold of the Big East. This dude needs to publicly apologize in his next presser for his behavior, not just a random social media post. Own it Cooley. Your program is trash, you abandoned the school that put you on the map, and now you're just making a fool out of yourself. Is Jayden Epps really the sword that Cooley wants to fall and die on? These comments all came in a game vs St. Francis...St Francis? Is that a church or a basketball program? Good grief. I'm surprised Micah Peavy went to play there

On the plus side, this made top headlines on ESPN's College Basketball Home page. That'll sure make for some interesting negative attention for Georgetown
