Sooo, is it really all that out of the question to bring him back? I mean, our defense has struggled after all. And he was as influential as anyone turning this program around

Not happening as long as Bielema and Whitman are here.Sooo, is it really all that out of the question to bring him back? I mean, our defense has struggled after all. And he was as influential as anyone turning this program around
Completely unbeknownst to himself. Maybe (big maybe) this will instill some much needed humility. I suspect he is far, far away from another opportunity at this level. Hope the alimony doesn't take too much of his original contract.Walters was in way over his head
You see it over and overthis. being a VG/great coordinator (OC/DC) does not necessarily make one ready to be a competent head coach
Every time I see this, I love it because something good is happening!!
Nice! You guys deserve to enjoy this after his stunt.
What do you think caused Walters to fail. I am a bit surprised. Seemed like he put together a good staff and recruiting was going good early on....then it all fell apart
Don't agree with that, sometimes year 3 is break out year. Wish him luck in future endeavors. We act with class. I L L
He has no connections in the coaching world. Half his on field staff were Analysts or GAs before he brought them there. He also made Patterson his associate HC which is LOLWhat do you think caused Walters to fail. I am a bit surprised. Bret’s tweet was about our commitment we got today not Walters getting cannedDon't agree with that, sometimes year 3 is break out year. Wish him luck in future endeavors. We act with class. I L L

I think it's plausible to think that there's at least a potential double meaning to this tweet . . .Bret’s tweet was about our commitment we got today not Walters getting canned
Based on other discussions here, apparently he’s off the charts arrogant (JW couldn’t stand him), he took credit for all of Illinois’s 2022 success on the recruiting trail, mistreats people, and allegedly unfaithful to his wife (both here and West Lafayette)…I’m sure there’s other things, though I hope not.can anyone fill me/some of us in on what walters did and said? i do remember him knocking our crowd size, which, fair enough (although we’ve had a rough 25 years for the most part).
Bret is way above that and wouldn’t stoop to that level. BB knew this was coming so it wasn’t news to him and certainly not worth tweeting about. We have a lot to be excited here; let’s forget PU.I think it's plausible to think that there's at least a potential double meaning to this tweet . . .

Plausible, sure, but I think Brett is too much of a class act to throw that kind of shade at Walters.I think it's plausible to think that there's at least a potential double meaning to this tweet . . .
