I've seen minutes of a couple games. Their 7ft big guy, Bittle, former McD, leading scorer is a tough out. This is going to be an interesting match up for us. We haven't faced this quality size. Big Z is not this good. imo. Also they spread it around. 6 guys with double digit points. I will be there watching. Should be a good game.

4am Spanish time, where I'm currently at, and where my wife is from. VPN and YouTube TV have made this trip extra enjoyable to keep up with b-ball and to watch the Citrus Bowl in a few days - probably will wait until normal person a.m. to watch Oregon though.

Illinois football 9-3 and basketball 9-3. Oddity. Wonder if that has happened before.
Bittle is a very nice player. Home bred as is Shelstad their PG. To your point about spreading it around, I think they’ve had 7 different players lead team in scoring.
One guy I’ve been impressed with (watched three games this year) is their sixth man Keeshawn Barthelemy. Real spark plug/dog type who can hit the 3 and plays tough D. If he was on Illini, feel confident he’d be favorite player for quite a few on Loyalty. Also, plenty would be complaining that he isn’t starting.
Only about 6 feet tall, he hits 47% from 3 and averages almost 2 steals a game. Watched him against Oregon St (10 points, 3 steals), Alabama (22, 4 and 4 with 2 steals) and USC (18, 2 and 5 with 3 steals). I think he was 10 of 12 from 3 in those games.
