Going to be a long day for ASU
I believe that they said that they respect traditional ties when possibleI'm sure this has been previously answered, but how were the quarterfinal games assigned to each bowl game? Did Oregon as the top seed get to choose their preferred site, then Georgia, etc.? If that was the case, I'd have a hard time thinking Georgia wouldn't have wanted to pick the Peach Bowl given it's basically their second home field. But Georgia is at the Sugar Bowl, which does have more of an old school feel from the bowl system where the SEC champion played an at-large team in New Orleans.
Felt coming in like ASU would have to play pretty close to a perfect game to have a chance to win. Not taking advantage of two big Texas penalties on the first drive to settle for a field goal, giving up a big play on the first Longhorn play from scrimmage, and giving up a special teams TD (I believe that was a punt return, but I'm picking up the house while the game is on) is not "pretty close to a perfect game" so far.Going to be a long day for ASU

Historical bowl tie ins. Hence Big Ten v Pac 12 (now Big Ten) OSU v OU. I think top SEC team has always gone to the Sugar Bowl also.I'm sure this has been previously answered, but how were the quarterfinal games assigned to each bowl game? Couldn't be any more pro-Texas than the ESPN hacks. If you are watching the game, do the Texas radio broadcast. Craig Way is great.
Sucks, but it’s the right call.Officials in New Orleans just announced that CFP Quarterfinal game at Sugar Bowl has been postponed 24 hours and will be played tomorrow night.
As long as there is sufficient time between the quarters and semis - which there is with the semifinals on January 9th - this is 100% the right call. If nothing else, the authorities need time to continue their investigation. Having thousands of additional people in that area will only hurt any investigation that is underway.Sucks, but it’s the right call.
This stuff (for me at least) adds more that they should play quarterfinal games at campus sites. I've long held that the top four seeds should get a home game in this event, especially since the 5-8 seeds get that privilege. But if there are hoops to jump through in terms of scheduling, just make it easy and put the quarterfinal games on campus sites.Only thing I know is that reason Georgia isn't in Peach Bowl is that CFP committee didn't want any of schools having de facto home game in quarterfinals. Which is funny because that's essentially what Texas will have in the Cotton Bowl if they beat Arizona State. Based on how the top 4 ended up, the only flip in where any one would have ended up was Georgia and Arizona State. Oregon was always going to end up in Rose Bowl and Boise State was going to end up in Fiesta Bowl since they were seeded ahead of Arizona State.
Craig Way is elite. He does a gazillion sports including being the voice of UIL football title games, Texas's IHSA.Couldn't be any more pro-Texas than the ESPN hacks.
Is it bad I I’m wearing my OSU shirt today? Don’t hate I’m Illini for life. I went to a game couple years ago with a girl from OSU. I needed to blend lolHopefully OSU-ORE will be so good that it'll cover up all these poor, blowout matchups these past 2 weeks.
