Man, I am SO HAPPY to hear Brad talk about "putting the foot through the floorboard" and just putting teams away. I can't tell you how many teams and how many games we've seen in the last ten years who played down to their competition or let big leads slip away.

Penn State isn't even someone I would have considered bad, but that was all the more reason to execute that mindset. We had them down 20 in the first half, and we could have let up and just kept control of the game, but .. no. Don't do that. Make it 30 points, 40 points. I hoped prior to half when it was like 36-17 or something that we would keep them under 25 before halftime, and that's exactly what happened.

Kylan's passing has also impressed me a LOT. Seems like he has 2/3 sick dimes a game now (as long as our players can handle them). Bodes really well for next year when I assume he will take most lead guard responsibilities.

Also nice to keep in mind this isn't Chicago St we just gave a biblical ***-whooping to....PSU handled a top ten Purdue team by 9 just over a month ago.

They were trouncing Purdue. A late run made the score look respectable.

EDIT: Penn State led that game by 27 with about 9 mins left.

Great game very fun to watch. I agree with many who said we could've won by a lot more. It's hard to be upset with a 39 point win but we left A LOT of easy points out there.
Does anybody else still just fume about the Northwestern loss! I realize we've made huge strides since then, but if we don't absolutely blow that game we are 13-2 and undefeated in conference. It still pisses me off we lost to those guys.
The loss to the kitties may have prevented the loss to the huskies. I think it, along with the TN loss, were very big learning lessons. I never like to lose, but sometimes it can help.

I was just going to post about him. He's not a lights-out 3-point shooter and he's probably too short for the NBA but he's just a very impressive player. Always seems to have a plan when he's got the ball.
He's tough as nails, both physically and mentally. And in some games he was a "lights-out 3 point shooter" and probably will be again. You definitely have to guard him tight on the perimeter.

I disagree. When a player fouls out frequently, he gets a rep and it is easier for the refs to whistle him on the 50/50. At least that is how it plays in my head.
I suppose the posters with legit officiating credentials may rebut this also, but I swear on Morez's last foul the ref blew the whistle before the PSU player even initiated his move. Maybe there was a hand check or something I did not see.

People can contradict me with the cold, hard analytics if they wish, but my perception has certainly been that even during this program's magnificent ascent since 2019-20, there remains one point of stress for me as a fan ... EVERY year, we have seemed peculiarly susceptible to having a lethargic "off game" at home vs. an inferior opponent. To be clear, we have WON the VAST majority of these games, but I am sure we all have memories of home games vs. the likes of Nebraska, Minnesota, Northwestern, etc. over the last 5 years where it just seemed like we should have run away with it, and yet we let them hang around and need something like an Ayo dagger to pull away late.
Your feelings are valid and they have a name: negativity bias. The gist is that positive and negative events of equal weight happen all the time, but humans are more likely to remember the negative experiences.

Felt like we missed a lot of open shots and not everybody was 'on.' Absolutely crazy where the ceiling is if you combine this defensive effort/scheme with a hot shooting night!!

For me, Kasparas is one of those rare players that I watch and think he's having an off night, and then look at his stats and realize he had a huge impact. Very skilled and exceptional understanding of the game for a frosh. I think the one legit issue is the turnovers, which seems like it should improve. His A/T for the year is solid, but if you look at the elite teams we've played (I'll count TN, Bama, OR which are all top-30 in KP), those have a combined A/T under 1:1, and similar if you add top 50 Mizzou and Ark.

Really felt spoiled watching this one. I expected every open look from 3 to go in, which is a testament to how well they can shoot.

The more I see the replay the more I think it was a foul on Boswell, as he clearly lowers the shoulder there.

But, then either Baldwin definitely oversold the contact, or Boswell is just an absolute truck for a 6-2 guy.

That guy never had defensive position. He was on the side of KB. Both were going straight up the court. Then the defender stepped in front of KB. That was a block.
Not sure what view you saw he (Ace) flopped for sure, but it was a foul KB, he lowered his shoulder and extended his arm to ward off the defender. The defender did have position as well, KB dribbled right into him.

At the end of the day, it was pretty much a bang-bang type of call that goes our way sometimes and the other way sometimes. Obviously ended up having zero impact on the game overall.

Agree, but I think Kylan's had a couple of those go against him with the elbow push.

Edit, others beat me to it.

He played another 15 minutes after the fall. Maybe it tightened up? Admittedly, I'm not one to give hated opponents the benefit of doubt.

Regardless of injury or no injury, Boswell had him locked in a cage.

From watching in person he looked like he was experiencing discomfort. Immediately after he was bent over for quite awhile and kept trying to stretch it out. Seemed pretty legit he hurt himself, whether it was because he flopped too hard or it was a legit foul is up fir debate.

Podz transferred because he couldn’t get on the court here, Will started tonight. Kid just needs some time to add weight and develop
Will is most definitely not a one and done. Not even close. I don't see where he fits in the NBA game in the current version of him. He is not athletic enough.

Will seems to be all over the place on people's mock drafts. Some still have him as a late first rounder, while others (like Vecenie) don't even have him in the top60.
