You guys are focused too much on highly recruited high school quarterbacks. You can always find a quarterback in the portal. The two teams in the college playoff championship have transfer quarterbacks. Illinois will always miss on the states best high school players for a variety of reasons but those players will be busts in college anyway.

Werner just put in a 7/10 crystal ball for this kid. He is rated the #4 prospect in NE for 2026 and 2 of the top 3 go to the same HS - a TE and a WR - maybe we can make some progress w/his teammates. Anyone else have any insight on this?

The HS they all go to is Millard South in Omaha. Given that 3 of the top 4 2026 NE recruits go there I'm assuming it's one of the big schools in the state. Anyone know if we've ever had anyone on the roster from there before? It'd be nice to establish a really good connection with them if we don't already have one.
These Nebraska recruits won't end up at Illinois. Nebraska will pay them enough NIL money too keep them at home. Illinois had a commitment from a Nebraska high school OL a year ago and he eventually signed with Nebraska.

Not sure on what recruit today but pretty sure by next week 1 of the offensive line recruits sounds like he’s ready. Don’t want to mention a name because of stealing his story but for once I have a deep inside tie on this one.
